My Comments
Recently,
redflare500 blocked me on the grounds that my comments were being irritating, which led me to look back through and try to understand where I went wrong. I do realize that I have been very critical and negative towards artists that I actually do respect the works of, but just do not really get the themes of.
So I would like to make this an open forum of sorts. I want to figure out what exactly I can improve on and how I can ask questions without coming off as a jerk.

And sometimes things just trigger me.
This is coming from an autist.
You're being an idiot.
If you're operating on the assumption that artists can't tell the difference between their highly constructed and controlled imaginary stories and the chaos and ambiguity of real life, that's insulting to the artist's sanity. Of course they'll be offended, you're saying they have no moral sense. Also, questions take up the artist's time to answer. They're human beings to have to take a few minutes to think up and type a reply to you. Nobody likes having to explain themselves to a stranger, especially when that stranger is accusing them of being immoral. It's really insulting and it's a waste of their time. You shouldn't be surprised by any of this.
What others have said (at least in Swatcher's and zepherdragon's cases) is pretty spot on. However, I'm going to have to say something alongside it.
Being autistic does not give you an excuse for being a dick. This is something I have seen many autistic folks simply not get, and when confronted with it all I see are excuses, much like your "Some things just trigger me" response above.
So some ideas and concepts just trigger you? Okay, fine....then stop looking them up. It's really not that hard. And before you try to say anything to refute that, know this: you and you alone are the one who clicked the various links leading you to pictures you gave nigh insulting comments on. And it's not like their content is maliciously hidden from you--thumbnails will show, nine times out of ten, what the overall picture is like.
What's more, you seem to have this burning desire to find deeper meanings or purposes to pictures that honestly don't have one, leading you to harshly ask what the point of the pictures was in the first place. Which is insulting to the artist who did them. Not every work of art is meant to open the eyes to a new way of thinking, expose minds to the human condition, or get folks thinking outside of the box. Especially on FA. Here, most artists do the work they do because they enjoy it, and the folks who follow their work enjoy it. Nothing more, nothing less. It takes HOURS out of their time and lives, hours that could be spent doing just about anything else. But they do it anyway, because they enjoy doing it, and the people who follow them appreciate their work.
And then here you come along, effectively stating--whether you mean to or not--that their work is on some level or another pointless, or morally impaired. Sure, you don't outright say that--hell you may not even mean that--but given your comments and how they're structured, it's easy to get that impression. So of course they get insulted. You're all but directly saying that their work, that they spend hours on for the sheer joy of it, is pointless, or malicious, or somehow "wrong." It doesn't matter if that's not what you mean--words are powerful. And how you use, arrange and structure them matter. Big time.
Artists here do not care if something "just triggers" you. They are here for two reasons: they love drawing the things they draw, and the people who follow them love watching the things they draw. That's it. Just because you get triggered by some subject matter isn't a reflection on the artists in question: it's a reflection on your inability to appreciate that other people are into things that you're not into. The sooner you can understand that, and stop giving in to a knee jerk instinct to mouth off at something you're not into, the better off you'll be. This doesn't mean, for a second, that you're not entitled to your own feelings and opinions, of course. You're as entitled to them as anyone else on FA. Or in the world itself. However, your inability to understand the unwritten rule of "if you don't like it, don't look at it and go elsewhere," is incredibly irksome, especially when your comments are pretty much outright insulting to artists who spend so much of their time on things that, nine times out of ten, won't get them fame or endless money.
I suppose what I'm trying to say is this: if you don't like something? Just click the back button and move on. You are not ever obligated to comment on a picture you don't like.
The other comments on this page are pretty spot on, but you said this was going to be an open discussion? No replies to any of the comments?
Where?
I am so sorry.
