WotDA - "Werewolfklacon"

So, first off, just heard the news about Oklacon. Kind of ... interesting that that was the final result of things. I can't say I'm surprised by it, but there's been a lot of poor behavior at all of the camping cons in recent times. I don't think the public sex incident is really the only bad thing, just the last straw. That said, let me just head off any rumors now, I'm not the person who contacted the other park. I wasn't even planning on attending this year. While I have my beefs with the con itself, I was just going to ignore it and let it fizzle on its own.
With that aside, I also must state that no, Werewolfklacon was not able to happen either. I couldn't find a proper venue, nor could I properly reach out to those who would have been interested. I lost the ability to preplan and advertise during the Furry Siesta chaos. So while I'd love to provide an alternative to Oklacon for those who really wanted to play Werewolf, I don't have any clue how to make that happen. If someone wants to help me arrange something for late October or early November, I'm willing to give it a go (and call it something other than Werewolfklacon I guess :P) but please note that I can't do it on my own. :)
The next time I'll be seeing folks is Furry Fiesta. And I'll be running things differently this coming year. There will be three small groups within the big room (assuming that's what I'm given again) and I will be orchestrating rather than GMing personally. I may have some show games planned, but overall I need to reduce my stress level at cons by delegating more. I can socialize with people and explain the game to them while letting other people actually host games. I may be doing Red Dragon Inn again next year during the day, though. That worked well two years ago and there's going to be another 8-9 characters bringing it up to ~28 or 29 total to choose from, including a lizard anthro.

Good luck with all you do.
Glad you're doing okay
There should be about 40 or 50 of us, maybe more depending on how quickly word spreads.
It's at the knights Rest Retreat during October 23-25, and is something for people to do who can't make Oklacon but have the time off. We don't have a set time for anything as we are just a group of people getting together.
check my journal for more info.
Now, if someone wants to swing the other direction from this and create a furry camping con that is extra expensive and high-class, I'd be interested! I still really enjoyed my experience at FurCoNZ, where registration was $100 and sponsor was $150. The meals were superb and the attendance was small enough to really feel like being social with everyone was the point. It had the furry spirit instead of the anti-social spirit. It also wasn't about drinking, and smokers were respectful and stayed in a single smoking area. There was a swimming hold, canoeing, a zip line, an obstacle course, a mountain hike, and lots of tiny cabins. Events were sparse enough that they were announced during food time and they were approached by those who wouldn't normally do such things because it would be fun to just try it out. It didn't deal with money outside of registration. It had no charity, it had no merchandise; though it had a little nook for people to draw, and a few art/crafting related events. It was just a place to meet up, be social, have some good food with friends, and enjoy the outdoors together.
I don't think we can make an event like that. Because of what Oklacon was. Because of what Wild Nights is. I don't think it can be accomplished. Expectations are too different. But that con was one of the best I've ever been to. Reminds me maybe my first Oklacon...... *shrugs* :)
Bah - now I'm rambling (again). Anyway, sorry about the trouble getting your idea to work, and see you at Furry Fiesta!
