YCH WTF?
I have a question. What is the appeal of the YCH commissions? I have always thought that if I'm spending money on a piece of original art, that I would want it to be just that, original. I thought about this after a long conversation with a very dear friend, who is also an artist who doesn't do YCH commissions (and as far as I know has no interest in doing them in the near future).
Not trying to poke a bear here, I'm just curious.

A YCH that is a one-shot where the artist sets the stage, but not the character is fine. The person doesn't know what they want their character doing but wants a picture of them. The artist is thinking ahead. When the background is duplicated and several people have the same picture but have their character put in place of the other's, then I think that is laziness on the artist's part. Scenario YCH art (several characters in the same picture) is a different thing altogether.

The scenario YCH I can understand. I just don't really get the others I guess. If a YCH slot is exactly what you might like your character doing, ok, I can get that. It jest seems to me that with as much as a commission can cost, I would want it as personalized and styled to my preference as possible.
