Well, a good start is finding out about furs in your area. Seeing about organizing group meet ups, events, Etc.

There are some FA groups around. There might be one for around where you live. For example, near me are  alabamafurs and  mobilefurs. Maybe you can find one for your town.

I know the group in my area had a page on Meetup.com. You could certainly try there first!

perhaps join some forums? it's a good way to meet other furs and share your art as well.
personally, i dont like forums much, because theyre too cluttered but maybe it'll be right up your alley.

what neon-tiger-moira says is also a good idea, looking up local furries is a good start. you can look up
your town or country and add convention or meet up to it on your search engine and see if anything
pops up. like i for example live in puerto rico. and we dont have conventions yet but we have meet ups.
