The end of the struggle....

...is so close...
After many stupendous setbacks (including the invasion of CPS out of nowhere; complete with the typical "We know everything (even though we have no f*cking clue) and you're all terrible" mindset) we have finally managed to get some much-needed momentum.
We were directed towards a small group dedicated to helping families; and they were quite eager; but then they sicced CPS on us, pretty much on a whim. After the initial horrendous parent nightmare (that anyone with a child tends to fear from these power-inflated knobs), they suddenly found themselves thwarted by facts (which were backed up miles deep by those who know us), much to their chagrin. So NOW, they're backing off, and allowing these other programs to actually HELP us, rather than just condemn us outright.
Now, an unconventional idea that I had came into play. I started questioning the Business angle; namely the "Tax write-off + PR boost" aspect. I suggested we look into businesses that sell trailers; and ask if they have trailers that were functional, but less apt to sell (ideally older ones). I understood already that a business nearly never donates straight to an individual; so instead, I suggested we explore whether or not they could donate one to the group helping us. This way, the company could write it off as a contribution (or even a loss, depending) for FULL PRICE (which is why I was specifically asking about older models, which tend to be on sale); and at the same time; they could slap advertising for their business on it, and/or get a good story in the paper from the group about them. Then the group could apply their newfound 'asset' to a client for no cost. Everyone wins. During an interview with them, my mate presented it, and I hear it took them totally by surprise.
This idea got the people in the group checking; and they discovered (to their amazement) that there was already a trailer being held for donation at a local seller; it was being held there by a local church. Turns out, an older lady had lived in it for quite a while, and then became suddenly affluent. So, she decided to upgrade, and then donated her old one specifically for families that needed a home.
My Mate covers the rest here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7117009/
So; things are definitely looking up; now we just need a little funds to get everything squared away: (Beds, Propane, insulation, etc) We are holding donations here: http://pitchinbox.com/pages/8301447643 for those interested.
