Oklacon Farewell
Here I am in my vacation week. And unfortunately no Oklacon.
I had great times attending the convention thanks to those that ran it for twelve years. And though I have conventions closer to home than Oklacon, this was my home convention. I have made it a point to always head to Oklacon even if it was something I could barely afford. The times around the campfire were the best times of my life.
Running up a tree to tag someone, creating fireballs of coffee creamer, and just great food and friends.
I am searching for a new home convention. And I think I found it. So to all of those that I will miss this year from Oklacon, I encourage you to head to Wild Nights this year and every year from now on. I'll definitely be there.
On a personal note, I was asked in a private note a few weeks ago that I should stop attending a certain evening card game because I am too 'Alcohol focused' ... In my normal life I drink maybe twice a year. And I'm not talking drink til wasted I am talking buying any kind of drink at all. I go to a con so I can let loose the restrictions and just blow off everything I hold back for the year. So I'll drink, I'll smoke like a chimney, I'll give drink to anyone that passes just to share and have a good time. Recall last year with the Gauntlet of bottles. People getting tipsy 'Because Corsi' with no other explanation needed. So I think I attended a total of zero games last year. And I will attend a total of zero werewolf games in the future. The game has been getting too complex and confusing for new and veteran people anyway. It stopped being fun for me. I'll have fun singing randomly and sharing laughs and smiles around a campfire.

I'm not involved with Wild Nights anymore (less than half of the original four are directly involved now, we engineered it to outlast us on purpose), but I still sincerely hope everyone that does attend Wild Nights has a blast each and every year.
And I'm glad I'm not the only one that stopped playing Werewolf with the fifty-plus-roles they try to throw at folks now, it feels more like a game of Nomic than Werewolf anymore most of the time. XD
Info:
Is this going to be a yearly thing now?
If I can, I'll join you at Wild Nights! Would be a load of fun. Love you sweetie and I hope we can make Wild Nights what OklaCon was supposed to be
