My life has come to resemble a King of the Hill episode, specifically the one wherein Hank hurts his back at work and has to take time off. Most everything was going so well, and now my biggest accomplishment is getting up from a chair. I walk with a cane and it's not sexy to behold. So guess what, I have plans for Halloween and costumes and Oktoberfest that might have to Not Happen. Because my new favorite words are "HSSSS!" (sharply inhaled via teeth) and the staccato "Ah! AH! AH!" that accompanies any bending motion.

Back pain sucks.
Or, as soon as you can.
I hope it's simply muscular.
For it is mine as well right now.
I don't use a cane though.
Just grit my teeth and stretch the back out.
And spend a lot of time cussing.

I'm doubtful, but I'm with Ruggels on this one... Hopefully is just a REREALLLLLLY bad muscle spaz that'll go away soon and permanently.
Anyway, I hope you have a safe recovery. Best get well wishes from me for now.
It's best, of course, when it doesn't even directly require a muscular movement, but just some infinitesimal unconscious bodily shift which suddenly stabs you with agony.
(But seriously, get well)

I blame it on an Evil Alliance Plot. Probably some Gnome up to something.
I've had several procedures done on my back for inflamed disks. It's a pain in the... spine, but once it was done, it was oh so fine.
Rest and relax. Muscle relaxers and take the pain med WHEN you ABSOLUTELY need it... Get better soon.
A few years ago, back when I was still working at the foundry, I had to suddenly deal with a cracked rib and a cracked elbow simultaneously... and just when I was finally on the mend from those, my right knee decided to go out. I had to deal with a lot of pain during those months. So I know it's no fun having to endure it. Hope you mend fast and as painlessly as possible.
*hands you virtual heat packs and muscle relaxants* Feel better soon!
But yeah, Oktoberfest is not your friend when you are on pain meds
