Life Update

Max here. my father lost his battle with an extremely aggressive strain of lung cancer. it happened really quick, and as quiet and peaceful as medically possible. there was literally nothing more anyone on the planet of earth could do.
i'm okay, i really am. i've got bae here with me, and i've been getting plenty of rest and helping out my relatives who are taking it less-well than i am.
funeral's tomorrow, which is going to be long and exhausting and a little hectic. immediately after that, an hourlong drive with my cousin to the airport in NJ, then i'm on a flight back to campus in Rochester, where i'll be packing and chilling out until the 23rd.
then i'm leaving NY and going back to ME to move in with bae. i've got a thousand pressures and uncomfortable affairs i have to take care of, but i'm taking it all a step at a time. one day at a time.
to the winners of my YCH and people currently in my queue: i'll get to you when i get back in to Rochester! i'll arrange everything and get to work. believe me, it'll be nice to sit down and draw some stuff after the week i've had. i could use the distraction.
love you all <3

your family members will need a strong person like you for support!
i wish you well on your traveling adventures, hopefully it all goes smoothly
im sure slowing down and taking things step by step will be helpful <3
i believe in you!
*sends 27 hugs*
i'm taking up meditation and tarot reading and it's really relaxing and nice.
there's a lot of stuff up in the air with the will and stuff, considering it was made such last minute.
the most pressing thing i have to worry about is technically i have no medical insurance right now. so i guess my skydiving plans have to go on hold lmao
but i'm so lucky to have such a good support system of family and friends to keep me afloat; and i count you guys in on that too.
moving in and spending the holidays with the bae is giving me a nice golden light at the end to look forward to.
which is part of the reason why i'm pushing myself to take the time and effort to complete my first aid training.
part of my brain knows that it's okay to take time off from drawing here, but the anxious part of my brain really needed to hear it from you guys, so thank you for that.
if that doesn't cure what ails me, nothing will.
thank you friend
a whole stress-free week on campus before i have to go back to maine and face some responsibilities re: health care and funds. but that's a problem for future me. we'll def chat sometime.
i am strong as a block of granite and lighter than a slice of bread. i do got this. it was a lot to take in culturally and emotionally, but i handled it like a pro, and i know that was a huge comfort to my family.
there'll be a time for me to break down, but that'll come later. i'll probably follow bae's advice and just put on the saddest animal movie in my arsenal and let it all out.
for me that's Black Beauty. wish me luck, i may die of dehydration. but if there's anything that Fight Club taught me, it's that the best sleep comes after tears.
aww, that's such a sweet gesture. let me give you a digital hug if that's okay too -hugs-
on the bright (dark humour) side, i have a lot in common with batman now.
