It seems some things have changed since I last looked, and the same probably goes for lots of people.
Reminders: They aren't allowed as submissions, period. I see TONS of people doing this, and I thought at one point they were allowed if they fit certain conditions. They're not.
One of the people I follow was banned for posting a reminder, with no warnings or anything... This doesn't follow the manner in which FA said that punishments were being handed out. So, heads up there. Just watch out for overzealous admin with banhammers and try to keep within the guidelines.

Seriously though, I too do not think that submissions are the best place for reminders, but handing out bans without warnings is way way way too harsh a punishment for that. It is a really minor offence at best if you ask me, and even temporary bans would be overdoing it by a lot. Just my own two cents on the suject :)
