Might try refreshing your computers IP address
(Assuming you are running windows) Open a command prompt and run these two commands:
ipconfig /release
and then
ipconfig /renew

I have to do this about once a week cause my connection is so weird lol

it's mostly my stupid internet cord. I can't replace it because it's through the walls off my house and my father in law broke the little tab that holds it into my computer so I've got it ducktaped to my computer to hold it in.

If you have an RJ-45 crimper you could cut off the end and crimp a new connector on the end. Or even better would be to get a jack and punch down the wires into the jack. Then you could plug a normal (replaceable) cable into the jack.
