Why not make a waiting list ? Perhaps after you finish this batch, you could then do the next batch, then the next. Though also maybe limit the waiting list to like say 40-50 of the users who commented on the journal ?

Raffles?

I don't think Raffles will work, there's a lot of people who feel that earning a commission through chance is a bad thing, if they can't come to a mutual business decision with the person offering commissions then they'll be less inclined to commission.

What do you mean 10 people each round?

You are going to be in pretty high demand because of the quality of your work as is.
Unfortunately, this isn't going to be an overly easy situation to solve. Rotating and making
it so people can't keep chain claiming slots from you every time you open will help make it a bit more fair,
but it's still not going to be a situation where you can make EVERYONE happy. You need to do what is right
for you first and foremost.

Do what you feel is right bud. Allowing a time period before one can re-commission you would allow new people to get chances indeed. Unfortunately like most commissions though, its always about being at the right place at the right time. Can't really ever solve that.

I agree that a price increase is in order, it allows you to take less commissions and provide higher quality work while still giving yourself enough money for your work. As far as the round goes, you could take the first 10 this round, then when you're ready take the next 10 down, and just work your way down that list to a certain point? Just a thought. I think most of us are willing to pay more, and wait longer though, your work is worth it.

One suggestion is if a person has commissioned before, they can't commission again for another few batches. This will allow new people to commission.

I think that an increase in slots would give people a better chance at getting a chance to commission, my other suggestions are to open for commissions at different times to help give those who live in different timezones a chance and this may seem controversial but perhaps a cooldown time for those who already commissioned in the past.

Also how about an offer to reserve slots for the next commission for those who are caught up with busy schedules or other activities like Work, Vacations or family affairs.

Maybe more opportunities for commissions.

I think for most, like myself, it's the amount of time between commissions (5 or 6 months at a time), which means that if you don't get a slot, you may as well forget it. I agree with the idea of a waiting list that blink suggests up further, it's just heartbreaking to miss out on your slots, because it means we're waiting til about summer now for the next one, and we don't even know if we can manage to get here in microseconds. It's all about the insane demand. That said, the wait is an unfortunate byproduct of the art you produce, don't make art that you don't like, and don't rush your art to get it out faster, and also don't overwork.

As i told you before, a waiting list or raffle could be a more reliable way to resolve the problem. Another guy posted about an adjustment in the price, that will be good as well.

If i had to choose and considering you are quite busy except seasonal vacations) a raffle list would do.

It's a good idea. That way, it also encourages people to take bigger additions. But don't be surprised if multiple people try to invest into that one same slot, you might end up having a picture with 7 other characters. Also another good thing about this system is that it will allow you to take on a more variety of different fursona and characters from more people, it can spread your art and influence too.

I think that's very generous from you, because it's really not easy to grab a slot from you. ^^" I think, because of your skills and popularity, it's a very good idea with this rotations, so all customers can get a chance to get something of your great art.

Of course your studies have priority, so just take what you think you can handle. You could announce in your next commission series, if and how long you would make a waiting list, depending on what you think you can handle.

Don't feel bad, its your service and your rules. Take pride in your work and accomplishments and stay determined. Improve the system in time as best as you can. I believe a waiting list is the best future implementation, that way everyone has a chance eventually. It is also the most stable and certain route.

Only thing I can think of would be making an announcement that you will be opening for commissions at a specific time about a day ahead of time... I just woke up, saw the post and checked to see if any slots were left (about an hour after you posted the journal), and there were already about a hundred replies. XD

Realistically though, all I did when I saw it had filled up so quickly was snap my fingers and think 'maybe next time'. You're a great artist, and I think most of us just appreciate that you do commissions at all.

Waiting list is a good idea. You can create a journal with it, link it to your main page and update it as it goes.

I don't understand (but maybe I don't pay much attention). What is a commission rotation, and what are you doing now for commissions that is different from that?

Personally a wait list is a great idea so long as you can manage the work, if you start feeling overwhelmed, taking a smaller list is always okay to do-it's lovely that you're keeping an eye out for your fans, but you've gotta take care of yourself too! :)

Also your prices are shockingly low, especially for your quality, to be honest you should be getting -at least- $20 per hour for your art, it's excellently made, and you have high demand :)
If making your art accessible is your concern then maybe double the price? It'd still be within reach, but you'd be getting much more reasonable pay.
