Liger Watch. Need some Fallout 4 Help
OK I normally don't make a Journal like this but this subject is frustrating me. So any Fallout 4 fans please give me a hand here. What do I do to decrease the scope bob for scoped weapons. Scoped weapons are kinda useless at the moment for me as when I got into the scope I have to struggle to keep the damn thing steady and I have no idea where to put points in order to improve that.

on ps4 press L3 to hold breath. that steadies the scope.

Just tried it. That's clicking the left thumbstick on the Xbox. Thank you very much. This was bugging the heck out of me. *hugs*

Personally I don't really like the hold breath mechanic, because in terms of actually sniping in game, sure it's kinda realistic, but in the long run it just means I have to wait longer between shots.

Yeah generally I hate games that do this scope bob thing at all. Most of the FPS stuff I've played, admittedly not a lot, doesn't use it so it's jarring here. True it's in the Mass Effect but it's very simple to remedy. Pour points into the Sniper Rifle line and have a rifle with good accuracy.

And with something like a, breath button, it's just so arbitrary, cause if you're actually sniping someone from far away, if you hit them, they either die or don't see you. And in that case you just sit and wait till the meter get's high enough again. Personally i'd rather they just make it so you can upgrade your weapon to not have to do that. Or rather just not have it seeing as it only detracts from the game play.

I woulda been no help since i use PC and its shift for me.

Ah at least that would have told me it's a button that does it rather than something incremental from the perks.

I do believe the sniper perk helps with that some tho. Dont have that perk set cuase i need more perception IIRC.

if you can find it steady always works as well or a chem or substance that is equal to steady

Steady can't be found or made in Fallout 4. I'm not sure but possibly increasing Perception or Agility might have a similar effect. If I were to make a guess, I think Orange Mentats might work that way.

oh yes I love the mentats I hope someone can mod steady probably soon though

The whole breathe holding thing kind of makes Steady obsolete. It just costs some AP, with no chance of addiction. Winners don't do drugs, cause that stuff is expensive.

It's shift on PC. If you're gonna snipe, I'd suggest investing in the sneak perks and eventually the ninja perks. Possibly even Mister Sandman if you have a silenced gun. If all else fails, do MacCready's personal quest. His perk gives you insanely better headshot accuracy in VATS. I can go into VATS and headshot 3 different guys at long distance and hit every single shot.

sweeeet I saw on a vid a guy used mysterious stranger a lot which helped in the deathclaw battle and im definitely gonna do a lot on sniping too I plan on doing macCready's personal quest also, thank you for sharing that.

Personally I don't really like the Stranger. He only shows up when I don't want him, like when I use VATS with the syringer rifle to berserk a raider.

Looks like you already got an answer, but I'll remark that on the PC, the "hold breath" key is Alt by default.

Crouching is a happy medium between holding breath and full bob. It still moves around, but not as much as when you're standing.

You need the park " gun nut" first and foremost, and then you should be able to fix that problem

OP
I HAVE the gun nut perk with two ranks put into which is the most I can put into it at this level. I don't see how that would help though as the perk at least in this one seems to exclusively relate to modding your guns. You need a certain level of the gun nut and or science perks in order to make certain mods.
