I'm now highly cautious of paying before the artist is ready to start drawing. >.>
The commissioners are afraid to being scammed as the artist can disappear all so sudden. While the artists are afraid to being scammed as the commissioner can just disappear as soon the WIP/picture is showed.
I usually pay upfront, however i am ALWAYS afraid that the artist can just disappear/slack forever. It actually happened to me once already.
(i will not link the offender profile, because i hate the "post and shame" scenarios )
One might call it shaming, another might call it protecting future commissioners from being taken advantage of the same way you were. It's your call. : )
Honestly, i start to wonder about why almost no one does that.
Probably because the staff on many sites punishes perceived "call-out" behavior. I think it's unfair.
someone could get falsely accused and lose everything before anyone finds out the report was fake- and that causes drama.
