On my extended absence

So, I've been bombarded on several sides of RL recently, not the least of which is a wonderful bit of news for me. I've been working on a screenplay for several months, and it was sort of picked up by someone who's interested in making it as an indie film. Needless to say, I am ecstatic. This has taken up a lot of my time, having to reformat and edit, and this on top of an increasing workload at my job has left me with little time on my hands. Not an excuse, per se, because I could easily have made time to get more work done on Rogue Dragon or something else, but the long and short of it is that I didn't. I'm working on getting the last bits of chapter 7 written, proofread and edited, and it should be up within the month.
For those interested in the inner workings of the film, we're at the point where the pre-writing is done for the actual feature. Now, I've been assigned a short, something approximately 10 minutes long, that we can easily film and then use as an example piece to present to investors. I've got a few of those ideas written and I'm waiting on responses for which one we're going to be going ahead with.
Thankfully, I live in a college town with a pretty decent Radio/TV/Broadcast/Film department, so I should be able to have ready access to both equipment and bodies. I'm writing an email (just after I post this) to one of the professors at the college to see if we might arrange for a reading of the script in his class.
After that, I don't have a damn clue. ^_^;

Congratulations! I sure hope that your story gets made into a film because I know that it will be wonderfully uplifting!
