I'm not a doctor, but it could have just been twisted the wrong way. If it doesn't go away after a day, I'm not sure what to do.

if it hurts and does not go away after about.. 5 hours, your testicles could be twisted wrong, which CAN lead to loss of testicles if not treated or fixed proper, just wibble them about and if the pain goes away after a while you are fine, but it if gets worse: Doctor time~!

Hmm it's been going on for a few days now, so I suppose maaaybe I should look into that.

the issue with twisted balls, they can block bloodflow and start decaying if not treated withina weeks time, so id reccomend it .-.

If its been going on for some time, seek a doctor, plain and simple. Not every occasional ache and pain is a problem, but weather or not there is any obvious physical problem that you can.. uh.. "feel", if that makes sense without being too TMI, persistent pain should be looked at.

there are other things that can cause pain in the scrotal area. Gas pains or kidney stones can cause pain there.Also theres a lot of nerves there so any nerve irritation in the area can shoot over to your balls. Theres quite a number of reasons some benign some not so. If its been hurting you might want to see a doctor.

A testicular torsion is, from what I've been told, absolutely excruciating.
If it's a dull throbbing pain, that can be anything from blue balls to something like a minor tract infection that's crept into one of your tubes, any number of things. If a doctor is an option for you go see a doctor.

It could be epidydimitis, where the epididymis becomes inflamed and sore, if it's around the tube that connects to your testicle that might be it. Ice and antibiotics and ibuprofen help apparently, I've had that shit for a year or so, it keeps coming back and going away again. It seems to be really common among guys (our) age, like everyone i know has had it.

If it were a testicular torsion you wouldn't be able to do anything it would be so painful. those are extremely urgent.

Your problem could be minor -- or it could be more serious. Either way, the best course of action is to go see a doctor.
