Happy 2016!

Happy New Year, everyone! Welcome to 2016!
Wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has been tickin' up favorites on the Oz TF story I had promised. Andrea and I are highly appreciative of that!
We just have a couple of weeks left in Issue #0 of "The Carnevillans of Oz", after which there will be a bit of a lull as we get important concept art done on the characters we have yet to introduce(and in the case of Baum's other characters, bring into the story). We'll then start work on Issue #1, which has already been scripted. In fact, I have SEVERAL issues scripted, and Andrea is eager to continue this past #0.
Now you'll note that the last couple of pages...specifically, pages 8 and 9...bears similarity to another commission I have on my page, which was commissioned by none other than Gillpanda herself. That commission used an existing character design from a pinball game called "Cirqus Voltaire" for the Le Quin character, which was my fault as I didn't have a more original reference to give Gill when I laid down the commission outline. Perhaps in the future, that commission can be tweaked with the images Andrea created based on my descriptions, which constitutes the "canon" look for the Queen Carny(and no, the Cirqus Voltaire woman is NOT the face you see behind that mask!). ;)
But the REAL question to ask is this, and it's right on the cover of Issue #0 to boot: WHO is the Queen Carny?
Another thing to bear in mind as we continue the story is that while certain aspects of it are similar to the universally popular 1939 MGM movie, our comic will be taking its cues from Baum's fourteen Oz books. Which means you won't see Lullaby Leagues or Lollipop Guilds, nor will there be three farmhands.
Similarly, we are staying the hell away from Greg Maguire's "Wicked" material. So no Elphaba, no Grimmerie, no Shiz University. My apologies to the fans of that series, but I just don't want that version of Oz in my head for any reason.
Andrea and I hope you continue to enjoy Issue #0, and we look forward to getting the REAL story started as we roll into 2016!
Next pages zap in on Wednesday, as always!
