Repairs

General
I've owned Fester for almost a full three months now, and apart from the two days I wore him to a convention (totalling to a possible 14 hours over both days), I've only taken him out when I was bored and wanted a better feel for my developing character. Over this time, I've found some things that needed repaired:
1. Left ear
2. Right ear
3. Left eye
4. Back of jaw
I thought his ears were a little loose, and it wasn't until I put his head on for the first time that I could hear the foam from the ears tearing away from the head's base, and unable to repair it at the time, I decided to just be careful when I wore him to my first convention as him, Belfast Film and Comic Con, but it's only been now that I've been able to repair all the things that had started coming apart. I've spent the last few hours sipping on a cold bottle of älska and being as careful as I can so as to not mess anything up, using the small glue gun I acquired a week or two ago to finally fix him.
His eye wasn't easy to fix, getting inside his head without hitting anything else, so instead of using the hot glue gun, I used a special glue recommended to me from my local craft shop. His ears weren't difficult either, just a little awkward to try and manoeuvre the small gun around until it was in the right place, then all I needed to do was hold them for a minute or two while the glue cooled before going on to the next ear, and the glue has held pretty solidly, which I'm really happy about, it's a good product that I'm very happy to have bought.
The trickiest repair was by far the back of his lower jaw, where the fur had come away from the foam that makes his bottom jaw. It took a few dozen angle changes before I found the best position that I felt was comfortable with. I was onto my third glue stick by this stage, dribbling glue down into the cavity between the fur and foam a little at a time, and then smoothing the fur against the foam for a smooth fit, doing it in small bits until I got to the end; I only burnt myself once, and that was because I hadn't been looking where I'd set the glue gun.
So, my baby's all patched up and ready for the next upcoming Con, which is another BFCC in May, but I'll not be wearing him to it, as my tail was destroyed by people stepping on it. I say that now, I'll probably change my mind the close to the convention it gets. My main cosplay is Arthur Dent from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, so I'll probably be Arthur one day and Fester the next day if I do change my mind. I'm just relieved he's finally fixed after all that.

I am sorry to hear that this is happening! I hope nothing more serious happens to him.
