I can't sleep. Time to write shit I guess.

I have to stream today but I still haven't slept. Haha. So much going on. Gonna rant since I have nothing else to do.
LIGO directly observed gravitational waves. Woke up to this news and have been excitable ever since. Like, unbelievably pumped, you guys. As an astronomy buff, another tool to look at the universe is always welcome, but one that can potentially make measurements on the insides of black holes? Dark matter? Not to mention finding out that the last unproven aspect of GR was proven right finally? I mean, think about it. A genius like Einstein said that we'd never detect this. The most brilliant mind in physics said it was impossible and we did it. WE LIVIN IN DA FEWCHA NIGGA.
Also I wanna give a shout out to my viewers for giving me a shit ton of love and work the past 3 days. I would never ask for handouts, but I have a tenet in between jobs who hasn't been able to pay me for 3 months during the winter months when bills are the hardest. The love is so fucking appreciated right now. Thank you for letting me do work for you. More BnE is coming the next two weeks, and I have some obligations to finish up as well. I haven't forgotten about FortyFive or Cischiral.
Now the shitty stuff, which is that I apologize if I either don't show up or the stream is awful tomorrow. Nothing will likely happen but I'm super frustrated with my internet. Keep in mind I'm in a large city in New York. The best I can get here is 5mbps up. I've looked. We just don't have the lines out here for some retarded reason. Maybe because its a poorer minority neighborhood, but fuck. Its a sad fucking day that not only can I not get an internet speed that lets me watch modern streaming video, we apparently live in a country where even your fucking water isn't guaranteed to be safe. Fuck that shit man. Infrastructure feels like its coming down around me while we spend 5x more on blowing shit up than the next country below us. Fuck I hate Verizon and I'm signed up to be notified if FIOS comes here. At least TWC has no data cap. That'd piss me off even more. Condolences to you Comcast people.
Speaking of which, I was having a bitch of a time even getting on here to do this journal, right? Site wouldn't load. It was being shitty. So I eventually got that Cloudflare shit. Oh, it's not me, it's them. Cool whatever. Then realized when trying to check the forums that they don't exist. I'm sure there was a TON OF FUCKING DRAMA when this initially happened that I don't want to reignite, but I'm just finding out about it, and I'm kind of pissed. Remember that fundraiser in 2014? That paid Neers taxes after which he sold to IMVU? Yeah shit was supposed to get better I thought. We got this kickass site:
http://status.furaffinity.net/
But that doesn't work anymore for no discernible reason. We also had that 'accountability' page where they showed what they were spending their money on, but that's gone too. We got bad press for not paying programmers. Now we have no forums? Fuuuuuuckkkk thaaaat. What did we get, man? Some site that's been in beta for 2 years that's borderline illegible. We got submission folders thank god. Woo. A feature. Just disheartening man. I wanted FA to fix shit, but I was skeptical even back then. Bullshit that the critics were proven right at the end of the day.
I'm gonna try and sleep.

hope you get a good rest Cora.
Waiting for food. And then maybe I'll harass people on Picarto.
I'm not to popular around the office because of my astronomy knowledge. People were standing around the conference room screen looking at Hubble image recently... Ooooh-ahhhing.
I piped up, "You know it looks nothing like that right?"
Shocked gasp and indignation, "What do you mean?! Look at the screen!"
I shake my head, "The color is all added by computer to show the various elements being detected. It's actually all invisible... nothing but dust and darkness."
They looked at me like I'd just strangled Santa Claus in front of them XD
Drama, especially FA drama is a bunch of "he said, she said" stuff; with a whoooooole lot of bias thrown into the mix. Objectively I look at FA this way: It's a massive site and for the longest time it had no obvious signs of income since no ads were being run aside from what artists would buy up. Donations were long out of the question since FA was barred from Pay Pal long ago due to the cub porn, which did lead to the whole banning of it in hopes of being able secure future sources of revenue. The fundraiser was shut down after 2-3 days due to the massive backlash, and was to my vague recollection the first time anyone was able to donate funds towards the site in one way or another in years. In the end it's pretty remarkable that FA exists at all considering how little revenue it probably produces despite the amounts of traffic it gets. I somewhat imagine IMVU took a look at FA and considered it's traffic and compared it to sites of similar size and probably saw an opportunity to bring up it's non-existent revenue stream into something that does make money. People were and continue to be ready to take up arms if FA ever introduces subscriptions, or becomes more DeviantArt like; but without a way for the user-base to contribute money to run and maintain the site, FA would inevitably implode. There's this mentality of FA is free, and should always be free, and no one should ever be allowed to pay money to access features; that's just not a realistic prospect, especially when FA isn't exactly what people would consider a PG-13 site. Sites that wander into adult territory are maintained either by the user-base throwing money at the site to access content or hyper-invasive ads. Though eh, that's just my overall take on it. If FA crashes and burns (which some people have been hoping for years) then people will end up on different art sites, some of them are banking on FA's implosion more than others.
Also I don't wanna see FA crash and burn. If I had to play devils advocate though, I imagine what the critics are thinking is, "Hey, the leadership of FA is clearly toxic, and whatever project they start gets stuck in dev hell until it dies. If FA went under then at least the community would go somewhere else and I don't imagine it would be worse." But I'm not sure I have a well developed opinion. I don't care enough, you know? I do know that its a bummer to see 'Twitter' under the community tab and that's it. That sucks.
Certainly hope to see some spaaaaaace colonies within my lifetime. I mean I do hope they start doing moon related missions again. Like maybe even setup some kinda station in one of the craters that's forever in shadows, would help with the radiation issues; plus the whole possibility that there could be still water ice in em. There's a lot of generations of people, myself included that's never really had the experience of living in a time where people were walking on the surface of another object in space. Probably why there's a lot of excitement over having a Mars mission, but I think ones going back to the moon would be just as awesome; especially since everything can be streamed nowadays.
