Blegh, little crisis I've been having.

Hello, I'm up here!
You know what sucks? You can't really get yourself known out here without making a whole lot of commissions with your OC x.x
Okay, maybe I shouldn't be saying that but to me, it's quite true. Kinda makes me feel sad x'D That, or I'm just a big wuss x) If peeps could get free requests or be recognized by their RPing talent, I'd definitely take that path!
However, I've only really gotten requests from fine, fine artists :) Some small, maybe a few big ones, but lovely artists nonetheless! However, you can only get so much from requesting and the such, and even then, my guilty conscious tends to minimize the gift that is given x'p Kinda sucks.
One of these days, I hope that lovely RPer full of ideas comes my way and sweeps me off my feet like a knight in shining armor~

Though I think that applies to just about every website. In order to obtain any significant social standing, you need to be able to showcase your OC through several images, either by commissions, or by drawing it yourself. However, the artwork must also be exceptionally done, and in color for people to acknowledge it, typically MUCH better than my own artwork. But not only that, you need to CONTINUE obtaining and posting MORE art to retain that social standing! Although after a while, you may gather a group of followers that may still keep in touch.
That is probably one of the reasons that some people want to commission the more popular artists, to be able to get their face and name out there. I have actually considered that option myself, since my own artwork is... not that great.
But I really want more than just some followers, I want to be able to develop an actual relationship with someone. I want to find someone local to me who shares my interests, and would be able to just hang out, maybe chat over coffee or lunch, and just enjoy eachother's company.
Of coarse, I would VERY much love to find an actual lover, but I'm not gonna hold my breath with that one. At least not until I can start making some money.
