Back when I was just a little little kid back in Pennsylvania I recall going to many Junkyards and at the time I kinda enjoyed it. Every time I was there I was sure I was going to find the parts I needed to build myself a robot. And let me tell you, they WERE every bit like the Brave Little Toaster one save for the big conveyor belts and magnets. Weirdly there always seemed to be a school bus, one of those old style ones in EVERY lot. But I remember every time I was there, when we needed a part or when dad was dropping stuff off or back when he was still working on Cindy, I remember looking at the cars and always thinking that some day I would come back and fix them all! And I'd be weird and openly talk to them and reassure them that they'd be okay and that they'd get fixed. I don't know if it's because of that or just because of my endless can do attitude but I still kind of enjoy going to Junkyards in the sense that I view it more as a challenge. I see the sadness, I hold regret and sympathy for all the cars and view the entire site with a sense of reverence, but at the same time I'm imbued with a determination to try to fix and repair at least one, to save one at the very least. It doesn't matter what it is, if it's a bus, rv, car, train, boat, I just guess that when I'm surrounded with that much sadness and in the midst of ruin I feel a need to fight back against it. You find me a Junkyard where they'd like me work on the cars and I could tell you that I'd be there night and day!

lol I kinda hope at some point you go back to the "More Ernie's looking one there" junkyard and give us a look at those older ones! If I can help it I don't plan for Cassandra and Bert to be alone for very long. I also find it a little poetic in a sad way how the modern Junkyards sort of strongly resemble a car lot. Like they end their lives where they started and it all comes closed in this circle. Also I can't help but recall the Junkyard in Fallout 3 where you first find Dogmeat when I see this place! It looks really similar to me!

lol side note I like the adornments to Lilly's Rear View Mirror! And who'd have thought Ashley would make a guest appearance! I can only imagine your frustration towards the mongoloid mechanic that messed up her valve in the first place! Not to sound combative but if someone bloodied up Cass I'd be more than tempted to return the favor to them! Mechanics are expensive!!

It's such a terrible shame though, a lot of those cars look brand new! And still they have that spray paint on them marking them like slabs of meat, no doubt noting all the choice cuts that remain on them. It is really sad seeing fields of dead or dying cars like this. I've also never liked the concept of Donor Cars either! If you're going to get them both FIX them both. It's always been in my mind that as long as the car still rolls and there's good parts in there somewhere you can bring them back. Of course I'm also aware of the fact that when it comes to stubbornness and conviction to perceivably lost causes I'm something of a rare breed. And it's such a shame! That one van looks really cool too! Imagine seeing that all fixed up cruising down the road! Or that gorgeously colored little beetle! Like most of them to me look like all they need is a tune up and just a little bit of body work! I'm sure that there's more wrong with them that I can't see, or at least I hope there is because otherwise I think I'd flip my top! Obviously the one that freaking caught on fire would be hard if not a lost cause but that minivan? Nothing to it I bet! The ONLY thing I saw that belonged in the junkheap was that Obama Biden sticker! XD

Lol electromagnets seem to be a rare site in junkyards funnily enough! Almost any I've seen, if they even have a crane, have those beastly 'claw machine' looking ones that literally crush the car's body like a soda can as it carries it away. x.x I guess in that way the BLT cars are kind of lucky, though the way the magnet seemed to almost sadistically enjoy smashing on top of them, if they didn't have cartoony rubber-properties they would have been just as smashed.... huh

Thanks for telling me how you feel about junkyards. I'm a little ashamed to admit I feel the same way. I mean I lack your can-do attitude, I know how futile even thinking of fixing them is. But I do have that fascination, there's just that sort of morbid fascination of wondering what cars you'll come across. I think what the person said below you counts too.. it's a place of such history so many years and lives! As for myself I think I've told you about my experiences with junkyards as a kid, going to that super ghetto forested junkyard in the Indian reservation just off Cagey Rd. Where the moss covered haunting stares of cars would peer out of the darkness from bushes and trees they've been rolled back into... such a creepy place.. but that was kind of the thrill. I can see now why you love ColdWinterWarriors so much, they do pretty much what you want to do, just have a field full of cars you saved from the crusher.

Am I the only one who finds old 50s/60s era school buses rather... creepy looking? I don't even know what it is, looking aged and old is one thing, they also just have such weird off-putting proportions. Like a lot of them look like some weird hybrid, the front is often the exact same body you'd see on a truck just slapped onto this much larger cold metal boxy body.. it just looks weird!

That "more Ernie's looking one" is C&H Autoparts, if you look at this overview. It kind of wraps around the perimeter of the Pick & Pull I went to. I actually went to the perimeter of the inside of Pick N Pull where the two places meet and it has a literal Jurassic Park style electric fence! That triangular part at the top of the screen is the part you saw in the video, there's a closed gate I might be able to at least walk up to and get a look at with the camera. There's a couple 50s cars but mostly 70s and 80s era cars.

Well you speak the same kind of inspirational talk that movies seem to tout as the type of thinking we should all aspire to. But in my experience movies aren't really all that realistic and in a lot of cases those common messages they hold up aren't often true. It wasn't till we got home and I shut her off, then tried to start her again for a test that.. I turned the key and just....silence. I was blown away, how close I could have been to being stranded... kinda scared me a little thinking about it. Anyway later that day I got her a new starter for $168 and managed to install it myself thanks to a guy's youtube video showing you how. (lucked out there) and yeah.. you feel a lot of pride from that.

In order for their to be the victory there must be defeat. I'd love to live up to your claims of my talk being motivational but when it comes to stuff like that its supposed to be hard and its supposed to seem bleak. Junkyards are interesting. You're seeing small glimpses into other lives, both the owners and the vehicles themselves; seeing how they did (or did not) take care of each other. ...Also realizing some people may have been conceived in some of the cars at some point(s) in time. :X

I wish my local junkyard got Miatas, I love raiding Miatas now that I know of what parts are worth money to remove and resell as used. Heck, several wrecked Miatas have donated their parts toward mine!

Also, invest in a GoPro or try using a SmartPhone to record videos.

Our fluffball has a feathery ornament too. It's a small, brown dreamcatcher (an amulet made of feathers and strings said to repel nightmares, but in fact we bought it because it's pretty xD) which was worn by previous cars we had as well. That's kind of a family tradition for us now.

I'm saying it because I -do- feel that way. Especially being an actual victim of a car accident and not just a bystander ;A;

We got hit directly from behind. The whole trunk was squished to the point it couldn't close and lock properly, while the car behind us ended up with scratches despite the model being known of its fragility... mysteries of physics. My parents had to go to the hospital, the neck pains weren't that serious fortunately (still enough damage done to demand refunds), and I emerged okay myself, no scratch, no pain, nothing. Therefore I had to stay on the spot and keep a watch on our fluff for a couple of minutes and wait for my uncle and aunt to come and help and move her (the poor fluff) to their driveway until she's repaired.

Hehe aw baby. ^^ Yeah dat awkwardness. You're lucky though, it's acceptable for cute lil girls like you to do stuff like that.. not so much for big bearded manly men like me. : 3

Yes, the same one, :D It happened years ago though so now she's all smooth and shiny like new.<3 Lately though lol on Easter evening we woke up to a flat tire, a stupid little screw got stuck in it an evening before (another example of a physics 'miracle', the screw had a blunt end and it was really small, an inch maybe :O). Oh well, we were planning to buy a new set anyway ^^" Dad couldn't stop talking about it and pondering whole day about how the hell did it happen lol.

I'm really happy you didn't give up on Fluffle. A lesser family may have let that be the death of her. Lol silly cars always trolling you by breaking at the worst times, bet the fashionable Fluff just wanted to make you buy her some new shoes lol.

That was kind of cool! Like seeing a day in your life. My only real reference to things like this WAS The Brave Little Toaster, so it's interesting to see what they really look like. That van with Van Gogh's The Starry Night was really cool. And I just realized it was a VAN with VAN Gogh! XD

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure anymore. It's been a couple years since I watched you. I know a few people that you've probably met or RPed with in the past who might have led me to your art... or I may have just found it by accident. I've always kind of had a thing for any kind of non-human girly girls... I remember when I was a kid I had a crush on the pink car Doomy was crushing on in an episode of the Beetlejuice cartoon. Then there were those old claymation Chevron commercials with the talking cars. I can sort of see how they can have anthropomorphized attributes in real life, but my attraction doesn't extend to that.
