Hey everyone down there, listen up! Midnight's got a message for you.
So…for a lot of my characters, I have “canon” (obviously not really since copyright and such) theme songs, and voice actors for a few of my characters, and thought it’d be fun to share it all with you. If you have anyone you’re curious about not listed here, feel free to say so and I’ll try to think of something :3
also for the battle themes, I imagine them like…themes that would play over them as a boss fight in a video game XD
Midnight

opening monologue included. For those of you who know Midnight...deeply…you’ll get this. Midnight is in a constant struggle with his own worry of losing control of his inner darkness, his dark forms…and this is often what his inner struggle is like, and his thought process. Been considering writing a story of Mid performing this song at a concert to display which parts are “him” and which are his dark side, but yea…this is why Midnight is a dick, and tries not to make friends…if he has no friends to hurt, he can’t hurt those he cares for.

hard hitting? Powerful? Yea, this song hits hard and strong and sounds like the pump up for a hard, but epic fight. I like it for him :3

Midnight if he were to sing a song to Shimmer, or to remind himself of her whenever they are separated. She completes him, and she is his driving force to continue on. He will continue to press on and love her until the day he dies. Also, this is the song I would sing (and have, sadly >.///.<) to a certain lovely white dragoness ;3

Slow, ominous, and forboding? Dark and cryptic chanting? Like a giant colossus slowly lumbering toward you, its threat ever looming on the destruction of the world…yes, this fits him all too well in this form
Shimmer

slightly calm, and serene, but also fast paced and gives a hint that…maybe you shouldn’t be in such a holy realm, and you’re being punished for such…this fits Shimmer really well, fighting off against a half angel, who still wishes to give a bit of mercy…

A calm, yet still powerful ballad about how far you would go to support those you love? About how you will always fight together, and support eachother through thick and thin? This works perfectly for her. Were she and Mid to ever be separated, this would be her feelings the entire time. They would find eachother, and they would never give up. This also tells a lot of how she is always there for mid in his darkest hours. “I must be the light, when you’re in the dark. If you lose me somewhere and your tears are in the air, I will ring a bell until you feel me by your side”
Sivu

Sivu’s story isn’t a happy one, and like a few of my characters he hasn’t 100% come to terms with his past, and his thoughts of always being seen as a freak and never belonging worry him more than he lets on to others.

Fast paced and hard hitting, able to strike fast, and without thought so long as the damage is done, so too is your job, as a berserker and glass canon.
But also, calm and calculating, careful of each movement you make, the battlefield your playground should you have time beforehand to learn which is the best path to take for the greatest success, such is the way of a strategist, and a mage from afar.
both of these fit Sivu, based on if he can, or cannot strategize before a battle, and this theme captures both wonderfully I believe
Gaikotsu

This theme fits both as a main, and battle theme for Gaik…but not with her as a boss, no, against her final boss, her ultimate triumph, or her ultimate failure. Facing down with the devil himself, in the final ring of Hell, proving once and for all that she does not serve him, and never did. Proving she can be more than what she appears to be, and risking anything, and everything to do so. Her best friend, unable to delve down with her, as it is her own personal battle, can only support her with a song to cheer her on, blasted powerfully from the Comm. Crystal floating at her side. There as far away, yet as close as can be, in what could be her final moments.

Minus the horse whinny at the beginning, and it being about a “cowboy” this fits alllll too perfectly. As fast paced and hard hitting as you can, chords being heard multiple per second, not a moment to even breathe as you speed around the battlefield.
Black Eternal

LucariosKlaw would make an AMAZING Black doing this voice, just minus the southern accent. Cold, calculating…cocky. And yet calm, knowing you have all of the cards, while your enemies hand remains empty. This is so perfect for him.
Mizu

Happy, sparkly and fun-sounding, yet still holding a SLIGHT hint of being serious, but still a theme you would usually not expect from a boss fight. Perfect for Mizu, who thrives on breaking expectations.

the song seems slow, sweet and caring….kind. it merely wants to solve things peacefully…but then…you hurt one close to her. Her brother, her family, or a close friend falls to the ground, unable to fight…and it is unleashed…the quiet ones always snap the loudest, much like your spine in a matter of seconds…

Inu has had…a rough past with her mates. Betrayed, tricked, abused, and then only to have stabbed herself in the back when she misjudged someone honestly trying to change to make her happy, to be a better person…and by then, it was too late for her to give him a second chance. All males have brought her, is pain. And so she numbed herself to it, to her love of males. She doesn’t care about them, or her past, anymore. There isn’t much she DOES care about anymore, other than closer with her mother…

Sound like a battle theme? There’s a reason behind why it doesn’t. Many of you may know about the ending battle in…I think it was Mother 3? Or Earthbound? I don’t know much about it but I do know…the final battle is bittersweet. You don’t want to kill them, you don’t WANT to fight them…but you have no choice.
I imagine this at the end of Inu’s journey, and of Ookami’s. Mother and daughter reunited at long last, and they think that was the closure they needed…but no. Ookami’s spirit has lingered too long, not even the closer will help her pass on….and so there is only one way to lay her spirit to rest…
“Goodbye, Mother…” and so your final battle commences.
