Most people into hypno (on the receiving end) seem to like it for being "forced" into doing something they actually really want to do, but their personal reservations or inhibitions are in the way. People who want to be the outgoing, freewheeling, cock-worshipping free-to-do-what-they-want guy but always feel like they're a prisoner of their own inhibitions, insecurities, or timidity causing their inability to just do the things. So the mindless cockpig they often get reduced to is usually what they want to be on some level, and the hypno is less about forcing them to be it, but releasing the chains keeping them from being it.

Conversely, people on the dominant end of hypno, the controllers, do seem to be in it for the control, and bending people to their will, the big top Jock being reduced to a subby bottom bitch, taking some arrogant hotshot down a few pegs, etc. Or others just sync up with the hypno 'bottoms' and are in it for the act of releasing someone's inner desires, the things they can't even admit to themselves that they want to do, bringing their inner animal out to play, releasing them from the neurotic concerns and excess worries that hold them back.

It's not something I'm into personally, I have a strong aversion to anything altering someone's mental state and ability to be fully there and accountable for themselves, BUT, I do get the appeal for people who are into it. I just prefer to draw out peoples' inner desires while they're fully cognizant and aware of it. ;3

The fetish comes across as hypocrisy to me because every person I've met who has a hypnosis fetish also claims to practice and/or support real hypnosis purely for helpful reasons, as in during therapy, and they tell me that anybody who uses it to manipulate someone into sex is deplorable.
