Make sure to check your e-mail and redeem your Doom beta codes if you haven't already, because the multiplayer beta finally starts today at 10 PM ET, a little less than 12 hours from now.
Is it just pure PVP or do they have coop modes as well? Cause if its the former I'm not interested really even though I do have a beta code I have been holding onto since Wolfenstein: The New Order first bloody came out.
According to this page, the two modes will be Team Deathmatch and Warpath (which is faintly similar to Payload from Team Fortress 2). I don't think the game has any built-in cooperative gametypes: that'll be up to SnapMap modders to build.
Yeah, same here. I admit being kinda disappointed with the beta's offerings and hoped there'd at least be a small sample of the singleplayer campaign. But hey, I'll take what I can get. At least this way I can tell if my computer will even run the game. XD
Man, the advanced video settings are not enabled, my laptop barely manages to run DOOM Beta at 42fps at 720p resolution, and that's just the menu screen...
I'm worried I may not be able to play on my laptop at all
Yeah, laptops are never exactly top-of-the-line gaming machines. Even worse, the new Doom has very few options to tweak graphical settings. Are you running on the lowest resolution and in fullscreen? That's about the best you can do.
If it's any consolation, people were able to hack the game and find a bevy of advanced graphical options that were locked in the beta, so hopefully those will become available in the final version and allow you to more carefully optimize your framerate.

ASUS ROG G75VW
Intel Core i7 3610QM @ 2.30GHz
16GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)
3GGB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M
-Intel Core i5-2400 or better / AMD FX-8320 or better
-8 GB RAM
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 (2GB) or better / AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2GB) or better
You've got more than enough RAM, but your processor's on the slow side and your GPU is bare minimum.

I saw the hacked menu, looking forward to that
