SO of the millions of colors of silkies I seem to have I don't have buff silkies and only one store within a 2 hour drive of here plans to get them at all this year and only 15 a time and only today and the first day of BLFC in May which does not work for me at all.
I arrive an hour early to be first in line as I was told there is a demand for them, 11am draws near and I see the mail truck and get excited only to see it drive away... it is then I learn that the chicks are lost in the mail!
The guy says the last time this happened the box did not turn up till the next day and they were all dead :C
This is super distressing guys T_T
Those poor poor babies ;A;

But I know that when I lived in a Midwestern state... our mail was taken 200 miles to be sorted and then returned... Even mail to the same city.
A side note, mostly for trivia - those two sort facilities in King County? Seems one covers the city of Seattle (980xx), the other covers the rest of King County (981xx). Weird, but hey, it's how they do.

*hugs* I'm hoping with all my might these chicks make it to you okay.
The whole "shipping" animals is kinda cruel imho, but I understand that it's just not possible to personally deliver each animal (batch of animals) to all the different shops, homes or eh.. factories. I know this is not 100% relevant, but I always ask stores to order fish for me when I want a specific one instead of ordering it to myself - shops are more able to chase up in lost shipments/get re-imbursed, and while I care more about the animal welfare than the money, it is definitively a motivator for the shipping companies to keep their things in order. Damn now I got worries about the two new babies I get next month :/
Anyways, hope they show up in good health.
Hopefully they have an experience chicken carer near that can help them a little while they're in transit <3
