I now require an I.D.
This was my first ever commission opening with this new rule, and having to get photos of people with their I.D. card before I can take them as a client is awwwwwwwwwkwwwwwwward and I hate it, but it's become a must now as there has been a huge influx of minors using their parent's money w/out permission and I already have been directly affected.
With that said my bonus opening is now closed and those I have chosen have been contacted, if you were not chosen this round then your quote is still good for my usual August opening, just contact me then to let me know you are still interested :)

Hope it works out for you!
I had my run ins with a client using their parents' money early on, myself, and I've been more careful since. (Thankfully) it was a small amount in my case, since they were only getting a sketch.
Still, it's a good idea anyway, especially with the potential of overseas customers.
I REALLY don't want to sell to minors, for various reasons. NOTHING against them for being kids (I was one once, after all).
I'm also a (mostly) tasteful adult artist. I love the feminine shapes. ^^'
The fact you're using mom's credit card w/o permission clearly means she's not okay with this, and you have to know she'll likely receive a call from the CC company. Even if that doesn't happen, she'll see the $3K charge on her bill. Assuming you luck out and charge it right when the payment cycle starts, if you could afford it you'd have paid the money in cash/paypal. Even if you do that, it'll still show up on the bill.
All that being said, then you have to hide the suit when it arrives, and if mom sees it she'll ask where you got the money.
Not logical, not worth it, not smart.
If anyone gives you trouble about it, just remind them that this is your livelihood we're talking about and legal fees just aren't worth it. People may complain, people may resist...but that's probably a good way to weed out the troublemakers to begin with.
fuggin furries ruin everything...
sorry for your troubles
Sorry to hear you've had to implement this. But quite understandable.
