Looking for committee to help start a con in Iowa

So far, I have 
strikercheguar as my interim VP (pending completion of committee assembly, and vote after innaugeral committee meeting), and we could use more volunteers willing to help administer a convention in Iowa in the future. We have been currently considering the following venues:
Davenport
Hotel Davenport
Iowa City
Iowa House Hotel/Iowa Memorial Union
Cedar Rapids
DoubleTree Hotel Cedar Rapids Convention Complex
Best Western Plus Longbranch Hotel (too small to be more than a 1st year venue, though)
Coralville
Marriott Coralville Hotel & Conference Center

Cons require a lot to get up in running. If you are considering venues you should consider the Double Tree. The company is is one that preticipates in Anthrocon so you could borrow from the reputation established there.
I've currently merged efforts with another group, and I agree, the DoubleTree does look like 1 of the best options. We've also considered some places in Des Moines possibly. Hotel Davenport is perhaps the cheapest that can fit a con. Another one worth considering is Davenport's Hotel BlackHawk (managed by Mariott), which is the highest-rated hotel in Iowa, even has a bowling alley in the basement. It has enough rooms for a starting con, and if the con gets larger, the River Center is attached to it, which is just a convention and expo center. Also attached to that complex, if we get AC-sized, is the historic Adler Theatre
