Cello and Contra will leave D.A.D species - the reason
9 years ago
General
First things first - I am not entirely leaving the D.A.D species, just my two main Dutchies are. I have two other Dutchies who will become my main Dutchies from now on. This account might stay even though I can´t change the name from CelloDAD to DubDAD or ViolaDAD, but I don´t care. However, I will be removing all of the art of Cello and Contra from the gallery as they no longer are Dutchies.
The reason why I am doing this?
Long story short: I´ve noticed how much they break the official species´ rules and no matter how much I want to change their stories to meet the rules even just in the mid way, I just can´t do that. I have too vivid imagination which gives me tons of ideas about their lives, their whole existence and powers (shapeshifting between human and dragon form and not having wings all the time even if they are in dragon form for example). I just can´t act like I was happy with what they are as Dutchies. Not any longer. I once was very happy with them when they were Dutchies, but then all the rules came to daylight taking most of my freedom of using my characters the way I wanted to use them. I don´t say that the rules are useless or make the species bad - no. They just happened to not allow anything in my characters, anything that really mattered to me. I´m OK they don´t have muzzle rings for example, which still seems a stigma-like thing to some, it does not even fit their designs. For some the rules are very helpful, but just in case they are OK with having their characters go by the rules. That is why I am not leaving entirely the species, because Viola and Dublin are very rule-friendly characters.
If any of Archangels or Ino herself is reading this, know that I am taking my two most beloved characters back to my own hands because I don´t want to violate the rules of the species and that I have acknowledged the differences. I know this is just my own opinion, but I think it is less "bad" to make the characters leave the species rather than actually violate the rules while they still are part of the species.
In the end the reason is not that I HATE the species or rules. It is that I KNOW it would be worse to violate the species´ rules if the characters were still part of the species and that is not what I want or meant to do.
And no, even though I will draw new ref sheets of both Cello and Contra, I will not be posting them on public because from now on they are no longer any specific species that anyone could make. If I ever commission art of them, I will post them on my other account
