RCFM Post Convention Report
God I am exhausted. Lets start there. It's a good kind of exhausted. VERY good.
Before I start telling you about how much fun I had let me tell you this. RCFM is a nice warm little cozy convention in Huntsville Alabama. RCFM has always been my second favorite con. Oklacon being the first. Just a weekend campout in the woods with nothing to do but chill out and act crazy. Cause what part of the hotel can you really break out there? A tree maybe?
Either way RCFM ROCKS!!!
Anyway back to the report. To start things out I was dragged into the RCFM Team as the FurSuit Track Lead. It was pretty much a shanghai at MFM by KO and Alexander. I was a bit nervous about being staff so this year I felt like I was testing the waters. (Waters fine by the way) I was not sure how much the convention would feel like work rather than a vacation being on staff so when I drove out I was worried. Am I going to have fun at this my second favorite con of all time?
In short? YES!!!!
It was funny. A few people noticed that all day on Friday it looked as I was a lost little puppy not knowing exactly how or where I could or should step around the big dogs. Then ... We found out the ballroom was not available for the Friday Night Dance. And I was asked where the alternate room would be over con radio. Alex's voice chimes in merry as ever telling me that since I was the Fursuit furry why not have something in the Headless lounge? I was like .... Wait .... I can do that? Hmmm...........
My Fursuiting mentality switched on like a light and I went into 'Lets see what I can get away with' mode. Within the hour I had sent out people to do fliers to stuff up, We got A DJ, Speakers Turned the lights down and had ourselves a dance party that went over so well we are making it an official event next year.
I could never hope to say just how much stuff we all did this weekend but hearing comments along the lines of 'This is an awesome Headless Lounge' and one that said 'This lounge beats FC's lounge' made me feel warm. And I realized that I was having more fun than ever because I got to play with my fellow suiters all weekend and get away with it as long as I had all their needs met (Which it seems I did)
Sunday came too fast. The games were missing peices that I really needed so myself and Wolfwings litterally got out of breakfast ran out the door, Hit Walmart grabbed the last things we needed and ran back with an hour to spare. (By the way ... SERIOUS SHOUTOUTS TO WOLFWINGS AND SNAP for all the great help and encouragement for the entire weekend)
The games were played and it seemed like no one wanted to stop. When you have a crowd of fursuiters look and seriously ask if that was really two hours of games you know you did well. They had so much fun the hours FLEW past.
Thanks to LilKitren, Shar, and Annika as well for helping keep things coordinated with everything and helping me when I needed it.
In the end I sadly drove home. Got a ticket on the way too but that's another story.
There is no possible way for me to name everyone that made this a great weekend. Thank you to everyone.
Now I have to close this. And to close I will say this. Until this point I have only had Post Con Depression after Oklacon. I get a little saddened it has to end and I can't go back for another year.
But not once had I ever been brought to tears that it had to end.
That has now changed.
RCFM is my family. It is my home. It is my con. My favorite con.
I cannot stay away. It's a part of me. And I a part of it. My eyes are misted over again writing this.
It's a happy cry. Because I know I will be back next year for more fun and enjoyment.
To those on staff at Oklacon. I am sorry. But RCFM knocked you out of first place in my heart.
To those that have never been to Rocket City FurMeet ... You have GOT to come. I swear it is more than worth your while.

Huntsville Alabama
I drive 10.5 hours to get there. And it's worth every minute of the drive.
but yeah... I might head out there one of these years, especially if YOU say it's good In 2012, I plan to head to AC. Considering I'm WAY out in Oregon, it's quite a ways for me, but considering I'll be 21, I think it'd be a good treat =3 I hear it's a pretty good con =P So who knows, maybe someday I'll head out to RCFM too

*Merry voice* You ARE the Fursuit Furry! And I have to say, You did an awesome job as the Fursuit Track Lead. I can totally understand your feelings about leaving RCFM after the con is over, It has been my Family for over 7 years now. I cry EVERY time I have to go home. Welcome to the family, and you HAD better keep your paws off my sister! *evil eye*
Hugs you tight, thank you again.
Come back online to SL, we will all still be sitting in the lobby by the bar waiting on you.
