Friday Fact Finding: OTRAB edition
Here's something I think I'd like to do. Every Friday, I'm going to post a journal opening the floor for questions regarding the new comic for Of Tunnel Rats and Badgers. Anything you want to know (other than future plot points, of course), about the world, the characters, or pretty much anything, feel free to ask. I will answer to the best of my abilities without divulging any spoilers (though obviously I've already posted the actual written story years ago, but I don't think a lot of people have read it, so...) XD
So fire away! What do you want to know?

In terms of current timeline, though, I have toyed around with the idea of an age regressive support group called ARA (age regressers anonymous) that he would be a part of, dedicated to providing support and a place to safely discuss issues surrounding involuntary age regressive syndromes, but I never really got past the planning stages
I do think, however, that there is still a biological imperative of like to like and while true hybrids do occur, more often than not species do not intermix. They just don't necessarily find each other to be suitable mates.
In terms of dogs, I think what may be happening is more of a caste system rather than speciation. Think in terms of India's caste culture where some breeds will only inter mingle with breeds within their caste. Obviously, not all dogs follow this caste system and there are plenty of mixed breeds out there, but I think the "purebreds" would be a bit like the aristocracy, or rather they would think of themselves that way. This could explain Edelman's superior attitude, and the helpfulness and kindness of mixed breed dogs introduced later in the story, such a s Cecil and Beth.
The way I intend to do so in my own future works makes domestic dogs a bit like those of.European descent in regards to breeds. To explain, I myself am a hodgepodge of things, my genes coming from France, Germany, Italy, England, Ireland and possibly elsewhere. My family history is a bit muddled. But my grandfather, his father, and the father before that all can be traced back to Naples and Naples alone. That earliest ancestor had been an Italian immigrant who came to America with his wife. At least one of his sons (specifically my great grandfather) found a nice Italian girl to settle down with, likely due to what they had in common as Italian immigrants. My grandfather, on the other hand, was by and large an American, and eventually met my non Italian grandmother. Most of the people I know who can be considered of European descent will have family all over the place, but I've met a few who don't. It's not particularly out of any ill will towards others, it's just the way the dice rolled. Similarly, most dogs in the real world are a little this and that, I've encountered many, many mutts in my time.
Your answer was definitely surprising. It's a lot more complex than what I was expecting, but definitely a thinker. It also parallels the snobby attitude of owners of purebred dogs and the elitism of dog show frequenters. I'm impressed.
I remember you mentioning John Leguizamo as Eldeman, but I still imagine him being voiced by Wallace Shawn (Vizzini from Princess Bride or Mr. Incredible's boss)
In terms of voice, Brock could be voiced by David Faherty pretty well (it's his voice I hear and mimic when I speak as Brock), but while I have a specific accent and speaking manner in mind for Bella (Patricia Belcher in Bones) I can't think of who would be a good voice for her.
I'd have to really think about the rest as I don't really have specific voices in mind for them.
