Oddly enough, I do like that Paul McGann's form of the Doctor is canon to have existed.
We have Big Finish to thank for making the Eighth Doctor happen properly. That was the real punch-the-air moment of the Night Of The Doctor minisode, when he recited the names of his companions from the audio stories and made them *real*.
and now im a hard core clasic dr who fan and modrate modren who fan.
I thought it was a nice touch that they included Sylvester McCoy for the transition.
