*Hugs* HB to you. Just make like I would when it comes to my B.Day: celebrate it early by doing something fun for yourself on a day that you have all to yourself. I've had the better fortune of having movies and/or Conventions fall on my B.day weekend or weeks before in the past, so that's how I've been managing it for myself...with the light occasion of impulsive purchasing within reason.

I prefer low key birthday stuff. =) Share a treat I wouldn't normally eat, go out somewhere special with a few friends, etc. 33 isn't really a big or important birthday, just marks another year alive.

I understand what you mean. I consider using it as the one time of the year that I'm definitely doing more for myself. Though in my case, doing anything for myself and by myself just for myself is rewarding when you have a huge lack of solitude.

Birthday importance kinda comes back around again in a few. Usually in the form of, 'oh god, another one? How did the year go by so damn fast?' And this is why we cake.
