Rules for the Non-Military.
Make sure you read #13!
Dear Civilians,
We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation has many civilians up in arms and excited to join the military. For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand. Here are a few of the areas where we would like your assistance:
1. The next time you see any adults talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the National Anthem - kick their ass.
2. When you witness, firsthand, someone burning the American Flag in protest - kick their ass.
3. Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a disabled veteran kicks their ass.
4. (GUYS) If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDUs) or Jungle Fatigues, telling others that you used to be 'Special Forces, Collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay when you were seven years old. Now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.
5. Next time you come across an *Air Force* member, do not ask them, 'Do you fly a jet? Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an ass-kicking.(children are exempt).
6. If you witness someone calling the *US Coast Guard* 'non-military', Inform them of their mistake - and kick their ass.
7. Next time Old Glory (the US flag) prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart, or if you are military or retired military you may now salute the flag when not in uniform. Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her - of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe ass-kicking.
8. Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or a veteran. We are Americans, and we all bleed the same, regardless of our party affiliation. Our Chain of Command is to include our Commander-In-Chief(CinC). The President (for those who didn't know) is our CinC Regardless of political party. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important buildings where all those representatives meet. All we know is that when those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military to go straighten it out. If you keep asking us the same stupid questions repeatedly, you will get your ass kicked.
9. 'Your mama wears combat boots' never made sense to me - stop saying It! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore could kick your ass!
10. Bin Laden and the Taliban are not Communists, so stop saying 'Let's go kill those Commies!' And stop asking us where he is! Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military. That reminds me- if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers, let me know, so I can go kick their ass!
11. 'Flyboy' (*Air Force*), 'Jarhead' (*Marines*), 'Grunt' (*Army*), 'Squid' (*Navy*), 'Puddle Jumpers' (*Coast Guard*), etc., are terms of endearment vets use describing each other. Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. Using them could get your ass kicked.
12. Last, but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends, please remember that there are literally thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen far from home wishing they could be with their families... Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our country would get it's ass kicked..'
It's the Veteran, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press.
It's the Veteran, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
'It's the Veteran, not the community organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.'
It's the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.
AND ONE MORE::
13. If you ever see anyone either standing for or singing the national anthem in Spanish- KICK THEIR ASS!!
ONE LAST THING:
If you got this email and didn't pass it on - guess what -you deserve to get your ass kicked!!!!

Too many people take their freedom for granted- i've seen idiots talking/joking/wearing hats, even laughing during the national anthem. During WWII one of my grandads was in the Navy, one was in the Army, my nan was in the Land Army, heck even my driving instructor was in the RAF during the last years of the war!! They all did their duty along with countless thousands of others to help win the freedom of this country, many paying the ultimate sacrifice. I think it's a complete disgrace people forget the sacrifices made for them (and that are still being made in Afghanistan and Iraq) and i think the 'ass kicking' rule should be made law !!
Just my $0.02, i'll get off my soapbox now
"14: If you ever witness someone belittling or insulting a military member, wait patiently while said military member kicks their ass, then kick the idiot's ass yourself for good measure."
13 rules to live by. Well done.
As to say 'It's the veteran not the poet' etc, I couldn't agree less. Holding a gun does not give you freedom, liberty or justice. These things are ideas that are immutable and cannot be physically distributed or enforced (re Afghanistan). The work of artists, philosophers and politicians is to develop these things, and the work of the military to prevent other nations from threatening it.
Let's not also forget that however distasteful you or anyone else might find it for someone to fail to show what you consider an appropriate amount of respect for any particular symbol of your country, such standards are yours and yours alone. The freedom you fight for extends to others being able to say and do things you don't like, and it doesn't extend towards giving you the freedom to exact a violent, physical retribution on your opponents. Hurting those you disagree with would be bullying, and little better in spirit than the tactics employed by the agents of darker regimes such as the Taliban.
I may not be super-patriotic but I respect the men and women who make keep this country safe and allow us to continue to enjoy our way of life. I may not adhere to all of these rules but I tell you now that members of my family on both sides have served proudly as far back as we have records and, were it not for medical issues, I myself would have joined the US Army.
This is the greatest country in the world, even with its problems and difficulties. Our citizens may be confused as all hell about whether or not we're a democracy (which we aren't; we're a republic). We may have based upon a single language that's all but official, giving in to greater and greater demands from people unwilling to learn even the basics. We may be in a recession and recovering from an ecological disaster of epic proportions. We may have been involved in unpopular wars and international drama. But you know what?
None of these people who disagree with these little pieces of advice or that this country and its military aren't worth showing respect to have had to live in a hovel with strangers, have been told "you can't learn that because you're the wrong color/gender/orientation/religion/etc.," or have been denied the right to earn their keep in their homeland. Their parents never looked at the weak, infirm, or female children and had to decide whether or not to throw them in a river because the family is allowed only one child. They've never had a loved one injured while merely protecting his friends overseas at a checkpoint, coming home with serious and life-altering injuries. They've never been ordered from their homes at gunpoint so their house could be used as a military barracks.
If you disagree that this country and its military and Department of Defense personnel are great and keeps us safe and secure in our way of life, move to Iraq, China, or some other country for a while. Oh, here's a good one! Try Somalia or North Korea! I hear tell that the fear and oppression are so palpable you can pluck them right out of the air. You want "fascism" and "racism," let me get you a time machine. I'll send you to meet Hitler. "Socialism?" "Communism, you say?!" You're too damn young to have lived in the USSR and you're obviously not from China or North Korea.
If you want to TRULY experience oppression and indignity, I've got a few lovely and exotic locales you may want to try moving to: http://www.chilloutpoint.com/featur.....from-hell.html
Do I think the military is greater than the average Joe? No. Do I think they deserve more respect than us for their contributions? You bet. Same goes for any kind of law enforcement. They keep us safe and put their lives on the line so we can go through life thinking it's so difficult because we have to serve lattes with bagels (no cream cheese) and salad (on second thought, strawberry cream cheese). If you can't even just fake it (actually forget the salad), you're best not leaving your home. What I get from this isn't a hardcore "kick their ass because they hate America!" attitude but a "get your head out of your ass and show that you're thankful" attitude.
THAT'S why I've typed this. THAT'S the message I hope gets through. THAT'S why I show my respect.
And you know what else?
F**k your bagels.
I respect them for making a living killing people, keeping peace and 'serving their country' (where's America in IRAQ?), although I'd call it: serving mankind or serving the country they're in. Right now, those terrorists aren't exactly holding a coup, destroying Barrack or Congress, so America isn't 'served' in this period of time.
They do more good for the country they're in than America, trust me. US gets a bad image helping people by lending troops or support.
A shame. Those people just want to help. And for it, they make their country look bad and get a bad image themselves.
Pretend that you or that piece of waving cloth on a stick is more important than you/it really are, and you will have your ass kicked.
So no, I will not forward this, because I support a democracy, not a military dictatorship. If you can't understand why there's anti-militaty and anti-patriotic sentiment, take this E-mail with you to the mirror for a good long look. If you still can't figure it out, just stick the E-mail up your ass; you already have a stick up there, what's one more item?
Also, what's with the emphasis on someone speaking Spanish during the National Anthem? Why is it seemingly worse than burning the flag? Why is what language a person speaks more important than what their values are? Is there some kind of anti-Mexican sentiment in the military? Are Hispanics not allowed in the military? It just raises so many question.
Here's something you need to know: to me, respect is earned, not expected. And buddy, you sure as hell didn't earn mine. And if you still think I deserve to "get my ass kicked", you truly are a lost cause.
I was gonna thank this guy for following me, but after seeing shit like this right on the front of his profile? Even though it's 13 years old, you'd think he would've deleted it by now if he had grown up and disagreed with it.
Ah well. A block it shall be.
Being in a cult does not give you any right to kick anyone's ass for expressing their basic human rights to protest or do as they wish. I don't know what hillbilly basement you grew up in to think this was remotely a good idea to post but... Holy crap.
We have people from all over the globe and if someone prefers to use their native tongue to recite something you're just a racist for hating on it.
Add promoting illegal violence, showcasing textbook ignorance, and acting as though the military has any say over American civilians. That is bullshit. I'll call a pilot a flyboy regardless and if you really think any of these things are bad? Two words, fuck you.
You'd better hope you're not actually enlisted either because I'm pretty sure one look at this and you're going in for a psych eval. Follow me and get blocked~
