Gosh, I didn't know that this iconic blaster had an actual SMG grip...Thanks for the info.
I'm searching for a good look-alike but bit of quality never hurts. If you know any Star Wars enthusiast that happens to be skilled with crafting, please let me know.
There's plenty of Jedi and Sith fursuiters around, but not that many scoundrels or bounty hunters
I thought about getting a lightsaber for myself, but I decided I am more comfortable with steel and wood as my blade. I visited my local Toys R Us and had a look at the toys and decided that I'd rather have higher quality saber, if I were to get one. Plus they were all red and I'm more of blue or green person myself....
The ones used for filming were actual Sterling submachineguns with a few bits added as a sight, and a shortened magazine.
I'll have to do some looking again, because I am not sure if the links survived the last couple of hard drive crashes.
But there are some really good tutorials online for making 100% movie accurate E11 blasters.
Theres also things you can buy like solid resin prop kits.
I don't care for the resin kits personally, because they are really heavy and not very durable.
(They can break just from being dropped...)
E11s made up in ABS plumbing tubing and bent and riveted aluminum tend to be the method of choice for props to be carried while in armor.
I may still have a mostly completed one still lying around. But if I make you one, I'll charge fair shop rates for the work.
Most of us either modify the toy blasters, or make them from scratch out of ABS plastic tube and other bits.
The hardest part to make is the handgrip...but original Sterling SMG grips aren't hard to find or expensive.
I have one sitting around that I was going to use to make a good quality replica....And then I got out of trooping.
Are you looking for a really good one, or something that just looks close enough to get by?

I made up one of the rifle blasters based on an MG32 and carried it slung over my shoulder as well.
They used a LOT of different real WW2 machineguns as props in the original trilogy of movies.
