Eh. Belief can die, and I don't see how it can fit the definition of hard. Also, it's something many people have that they're committed to, and want to be committed to, as it brings comfort and assurance. It's why there's so many religions in the world. Belief as a word is synonymous with faith, the differences are basically whether it refers to religion or not without strictly tying either word to it.
Belief doesn't die, it just changes from one thing to another.
Belief has nothing to do with faith, Faith is a word from religious institutions and has one putting 'faith' in something where there is no tangible evidence either way. Belief has fact to back it up or dis-prove it.
Jimmy has faith God exists vs. I believe Jimmy ordered a pizza
Hmmmmm. Belief means "acceptance as fact without evidence". It is, unfortunately, such a convenient word that it gets misused in such phrases as "I believe in evolution" and "I believe in the Big Bang."
A single small candle in a sea of light.
A single wish and a silly cat poster
A building block for hope and faith
An act of trust from a person to another
A tool and an idea of mind
A tool of despair and oppression in wrong hands
An abstract neither good nor bad.
Speak my name and claim your piece.
Or perhaps there is something we are not seeing...
“Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”
