Back from my trip! My car is all fixed up now, so I'm happy! =^^= There's still a couple minor issues, but with the new transmission, the car is back in good working order and should last me several more years. :D I've had my little sunfire for nearly 12 years now, and hopefully it'll last me another 12 more or longer. :3 It's hard to imagine it's been that long. I'm rather surprised it didn't die on me. I drove on it with a bad transmission for nearly 6 years and it was getting pretty bad the last couple years, but my friend who worked on it said that it was actually in relatively good shape aside from the bad transmission.
