Hi
Yay! After almost a month I have access to this account again! Thanks for Dragoneer for solving the password issue with me after wading through a sea of such issues. I imagine mine wasn't the easiest to solve either as I used a lot of false data in a paranoid effort to protect my identity when I first signed up ^^. But I am glad to have this account back!
I'm also surprised at all the notes/comments I received while I was off and not doing anything too! I promise I haven't been ignoring you, Ill respond when I can. Oh, I'll also update the front page progress when I sort those files out too ^^.
Anyway, onto the meat of this journal. I spent my time in exile trying out furry network. There was a near death experience regarding their policy on 'cub' porn, which they thankfully ended up banning outright; but aside from that I have to say that I am very impressed. I will probably start using it as my 'main' account.
Now, that doesn't necessarily mean that I will spend more time over there; in fact I probably won't as this is still where the action is. But it does mean the videos post here will be lower quality and most likely delayed compared to the ones I upload at FN; if I post them here at all.
The reason being is that they accept mp4 video, which FA currently does not. Aside from it having user playback controls, and being readily viewable on mobile, it means I can upload in a much higher quality too as the compression is so much better. But those are all just pros for mp4; it doesn't explain why I'm moving away from swf too.
The reason for that is because I can't compress the video as an swf myself. I don't have flash, and the export quality for swf directly from after effects is, to say the least, awful. (for an example of what I can squeeze under the 10 meg limit, look at the quality of the first dragon animation compared to the third; keeping in mind the first is also over 3 times shorter and has half the pixels!)
My workaround has been getting
jamesfoxes to help me compress my big videos into a decent swf. I have to admit I don't like putting him out like that though; he has his own life and projects and this is basically grunt labour on my behalf. He says he is happy enough to do so for me, which I really do appreciate <3. And for as long as he is willing, I'll post videos up on here too. But again, they will have a lower quality than what I post to FN, and they will come out later as its basically an extra step which a third party will get to when they have time.
So anyway, that's it! I'll alert FA followers when I have a new submission at FN that's not here yet. I know a lot of people don't want to have multiple accounts so this will put them out a bit; I do apologise for that. But I'm not placing FN above FA for any reasons beside practical ones.
So, if you would like to see the first two animations in a much better resolution that is only bettered by the videos my patreon subscribers get, then check it out here:

FA+

Tossed you a follow on FN, feel free to follow back if ya wish.
I've had an offer in the past for external hosting; however as far as I'm aware youd still need flash to script such a work around.
Honestly, I'm not hugely privy on the specifics, but rather just going by observation. Do send him a note, in any case!
There is methods of also hosting files externally and loading them through a .swf hosted directly on FA, but... frankly, Flash is not very good software to begin with.
I'm a bit disappointing it wasn't banned to begin with, but once the issue seemingly flared up they banned it in a matter of days.
I happily welcome you back.
