Ghost Busters reboot, How we fell for the Nontroversey.
Early reviews are in and it's a resounding... Meh.. for the Ghost Busters reboot. The controversy whipped up by the filmmakers has worked like a charm and a forgettable, soulless, marketing gimmick gained a prominent place in pop culture.
Where the haters a legion of mysogonistic assholes, no, just nerds tired of garbage reboots no one asked for designed to sell soda and cookies and candy and happy meals and action figures and anything else you can brand. But those handful that where, they played into the marketing execs hands perfectly. The outrageous claim the film had a message of Female Empowerment and "Fight The Patriarchy" tailored made to appeal to SJWs looking for the latest virtue signaling action to participate in. And by being insulting, dismissive and outright lining about the nerd audience the marketing convinced them the film was about to be a total car wreck, and we love to stop and rubberneck.
The real target demo? Little kids, just another plan to sell them over priced junk food, over priced junk toys and bug their parents to see and over priced light show on the big screen.
But the first critics have spoken, and Ghostbusters 2016 can join the Robocop reboot, the Total Recall Reboot, the Get Smart movie, the Conan the Barbarian Reboot as just another answer to a question no one ever asks "I can has shitty reboot?"

They lost my money once I found out it was a reboot and not a sequel like the trailer implied. It's like they knew it was going to bomb so they were in active defense and damage control/direction from the get-go.

OP
Pretty much yea, this is all about selling merchandise after all, so only that first week end matters. So long as they get buts in the seats their "commercial" has done it's job, underwhelming forgettable movie, who cares, move the Ecto Cooler!

I'm refusing to pay money to see it. I'm just tired of all the reboots.
