Wouldn't be surprised by false positives given that Microsoft is wanting to get everyone going through their own platform for games on Windows... Trying to sneak it on the people by making false positives if people play games downloaded from elsewhere...

That would be true...if not time to time their own stuff get false positive by other programs too. My malwarebytes initially viewed the "Get Windows 10" as malware until later.

My Windows 7 gave me a false positive on my Windows 7.

Literally, it pretty much waterboarded me for about a month swearing blind my OS wasn't legally bought. Even AFTER I did their little validation process. Several times.

Windows can't trust itself, that's nothing really new since XP.
Windows is bad with protection so it giving false positives is nothing really new.

because get windows 10 application is technically malware, windows forced it into peoples systems without theyre knowledge and it actaully impedes system performance to try and force people to get it, it also wont let you delete its folder and blocks any attempts to do so, though i found a way to get rid of it, just simply uninstall the update for it

heck, many people view windows 10 as malware... maybe because they are basicly trying to cram it down everyones throat

Please, you can't trust any anti-virus (Anti-malware is a different story). McAfee gives off false positives for trainers from MrAntiFun, who is the most trustworthy trainer-maker I can think of. I never regret downloading them, though I may regret using them (Cheating is a slippery slope).

Also, I remember a time when I literally had to use a trainer because the game fucked up so much. Dragon's Lair 3D. For some reason, on the Elevator level, Dirk wouldn't magnetize to the platform (As he should, and as he normally does), and since Dirk accelerates when falling (Just like in real life), the elevator would drop out from under Dirk, he would comically stay there in midair for a millisecond just like in the Looney Tunes cartoons, and drop to his death onto the platform...in the middle of a cutscene. Yeah, talk about broken. I had to freeze the platform in place in increments, and have him drop down a survivable height several times to work around that shit.

dude thats because its f#cking mcafee, mcafee is one of if not the worst antivirus in existance, from what i can tell it getting false positives is commonplace and may be programmed purposefully, and its super simple to get past from what i hear, it also constantly updates withkut your fruition, and you cant stop it. additionally there are decent free programs that i think dont even cause as much of a problem, and HOW much is mcafee again? i forget

My money is on a false positive. I found a post from as early as a day ago, regarding the except same detection but with Adobe's software instead. Could be a glitch in their database?

Well its not uncommon for false positives by windows cause it tends to not be as good as the other kinds

Could be false positives but I also wouldn't rule out some code similarities that might just crop up from time to time, after all, all kinds of software have their own 'markers' so to speak, right?

Could be either
1. Piece of code is interpreted as being harmful by windows defender
2. Microsoft really is being a bunch of dicks and pushing away actual games to promote its "APPZ LOLOL"

Just remember, there is a reason that most power users disable Windows Defender. I tried using it on my netbook ,since I rarely use it. I got frustrated and forcibly disabled it within a day.
