It's about damn time I put this up.
But there was uncertainty on whether or not I was going to fulfill my hope to attend.
Where are you staying? Who are you rooming with?
At the main hotel by myself.
What day are you getting there?
Thursday the 11th.

Transportation?
Sharing the drive with locals
Who will you hang with during the convention?
I'm not sure. Who ever wants to hang out.

Of course! I don't like to talk in suit because it's hard to hear me.

Please ask first. I have MAJOR OCD and I don't want dirty fur on my clean suit.

I will be around in suit for the majority of the con.

Only if I know you.
Can I buy you drinks?
Sure! But I won't drink in suit.

Yeah, I'm driving my mom up to Cincinnati to visit family this weekend..
Mentioning clean suits, last night was head cleaning night..
EVERY fursuit head of mine got washed, inside and out. The neck cowls got the sweat washed out of them, too. They were the worst! UGH!
The most vivid transformation was Dan D Lion's mane. OMG!
Ack, yucky!! How did you clean your heads??
Oooh, prepare yourself for long description that I will make as short as possible.
Inside of head: wipe/scrub the inside with a wet rag. If it's really nasty, use a wet soapy rag (I use arm and hammer laundry detergent) then use a wet rag to rinse, and then a dry rag or paper towels to soak up the excess moisture. Hang the head on something that blows air through the head to dry and prevent mildew.
Outside of head: Spray head with Folex, or diluted laundry detergent, use a damp rag to scrub, then a wet rag to rinse, then a dry rag to get the excess moisture out. Hang it on something with a fan blowing on it to dry. Brush the fur after it's dry.
In both cases, the object is to transfer any dirt/sweat residue from the head to the rags and get if off/out of the heads!
For the neck cowl, fill a sink with cold soapy water. Dip just the cowl into the soapy water and swish it around. Wring it out, then do the same with clean water to rinse. Repeat the rinse. I've used the spray nozzle at my kitchen sink to rinse. Hang the head on something to dry. Usually takes overnight..
Dan D Lion's mane is hair from a wig wefted into the fur on the head. I used the same soapy water I used for the cowl, and gently used my fingers through the hair while holding the head upside down so the hair hangs down. I rinsed the same way, andgave it a good shake gets the water off the hair. Again, I set the head on something with a fan blowing on it to dry, then give it a good shake to fluff the hair once it's dry..
In my case, I takes about an hour to do 4 heads, and set them on the fursuit drying tree (configured for that purpose) with a fan blowing on them overnight.
