Joe Cocker in Concert!
16 years ago
I recently got to see my first ever live concert... Well, maybe not the first, but I don't count the concerts I attended working security at anime conventions. After all, how can you enjoy a concert when all you get to do is watch for pimply-faced cosplaying teenaged fanboys amped up on Rock Star energy drinks trying to start a mosh pit by slugging the pimply-faced teenaged fanboy standing next to him? Answer: Not one bit...
A buddy called me and asked whether I wanted to see Joe Cocker in concert. Now, I'm not a huge Cocker fan, but I certainly am a fan of the classic Saturday Night Live and John Belushi. Anyone who has seen Belushi imitating Cocker (http://www.videoplayer.hu/videos/play/48374 and http://www.livevideo.com/video/D521.....ing-joe-c.aspx) is automatically a Cocker fan by proxy... Anyway, it was an amazing concert. Cocker has got to be in his mid-sixties, but he belted out "The Letter", "I Get By With a Little Help From My Friends" and about 90 minutes of other classics like the pro he is... In short, great concert.

Nihon still not so good. Between management, equipment breaking, and those overdue inspections, oh add in a pinging supervisor; Nihon has not shown me her best colors. =+{
No biggie really, a pal from my last base was already stationed here and forwarned me of what to expect. Heh, I just hope my first EPR here ain't less than a 4. =+P
I'm not a big Cocker fan myself. I can enjoy his hits once in a while, but sometimes the hits get old when soundbytes are used extensively in commercials. I think in order to qualify as a fan of something, you have to like the crap as well as the hits ... and possibly sometimes like the crap more than the hits.
I've only been to one concert, two if you count Bill Cosby. I saw Roger Waters perform at the Palace at Auburn Hills about five or six years ago. I had a lot of fun during it, except for the fact that the kid who drove me to Detroit and back happened to be Eminem's biggest fan; that was a miserable ride.
Those are some good videos and I'm glad you got to enjoy a great concert.
Thanx again!
