My thoughts on "The secret life of Pets"
Hello! Any feedback is more than welcome!
Well, after a long waiting... The movie: "The secret life of pets", finally arrived on the brazilians cinemas. In my opinion, the wait was totally worth it!
Illumination Entertainment is, without no doubt, among one of the greatest studios of animation I've ever seen! The animation looked good, the movie was actually hilarious, each character had a very unique design and personality... And no one felt like a missing piece of the puzzle... Everything fitted perfectly.
Even the brazilian portuguese voice acting was really good. Which is a hard thing to usually achieve... At the least with all the characters of the movie... Which is a thing that deserves to be celebrated. I'm tired of those hipsters that always say things like: "Translation and voice acting is for dumb people, I'd rather watch with subtitles"... Which is a thing that I can understand at times... But just pisses me off at others...
And aside from that... The movie did touched me a little. It made me realize how little care I was given to my own pets... And how much love they gave to me for the price of nothing... I basically learnt a lesson with the movie. Cried. And became a better person by watching it!
Thanks to it, my dogs are happier than never! I never thought that a thing such this would happen... But it did!
And I'm so thankful for it.
The only thing that bothered me a little... Was a "plot hole" near to the movie's end... However... It didn't ruined the entire experience, so it was easily forgettable. However... Now I do realize... I didn't saw any scene with Max making pissing puddles or anything... I mean... When the movie was released in USA, the entire fandom used this scene as "excuse" to put Max in diapers... Like if it was some running joke or something.
Anyway, enjoy the film!

I had said that anyone who is a pet owner will have a better appreciation for the movie than non-pet owners, so I'm glad you are also one when you saw it. ^_^
I'm not sure about what "plot hole" you're referring to, nor do I recall seeing anything to do with peeing... they kept the movie quite the opposite of the new Ice Age movie from what I've heard about it. (a lot of immature bodily fluid/function jokes)
The references? Did you meant the minion costume and The Sing Poster behind the bus? Yeah, I noticed. Through... The characters are clearly anthropomorphic animals, I didn't felt like if this movie were somehow a "furry thing"... To me it's just another piece of animation for children, that adults can enjoy as well.
The plot hole... I just felt that was a little awkward how Max and Snowball quickly became "friends", after the Animal Control got both Tatoo and Duke... But that's just my silly opinion.
About the peeing... I don't know, I just noticed a couple of "fan arts" involving particularly Max and a diaper. I read the description, and the artists did mentioned a scene where he makes a piddle somewhere... Or maybe I just understood the description wrongly. But yeah... Ice Age did offered everything they got under their sleeve... I don't see a future for the franchise anymore.
