Thank you everyone who showed their support for porthos over the last week I really can't thank you all enough. Porthos is not at peace, his kidneys suffered to much damage and shut down Thursday night. Our vet did everything possible but at 12 pm Friday I had to make the hardest decision any animal lover can make. I only want my furry family to have the best life possible but porthos was in constant pain with no hope of recovery. As much as I love him it would be selfish to prolong his suffering simply because I wasn't ready to let him go. Even in his final moments while I was saying goodbye and petting him he still looked to me and purred. It was like he knew what was happening and was telling me it's ok he was ready to move on. Just how endless is the love between humans and their furry friends?
