Decade? Heck, this year!

Even though a decade is ten years? I can think of a lot of celebrities that have passed away within this decade. Robin Williams, Michael Jackson, Prince, Mickey Rooney, Bob Hoskins, and Leonard Nemoy to name a few.

Not to mention Brittany Murphy in December 2009 (she voiced Luanne Platter on "King of the Hill").

That one was a had one indeed.

On another more pleasant note, June Foray (arguably the greatest voiceover artist, male or female, of all time) turned 99 yesterday.

Ye Gods! She's still alive!? I remember her from old WB cartoons. She voiced Granny, the witch in several Bugs Bunny shorts, and numerous other characters I grew up with. In fact, if I recall correctly, almost EVERY well known female animated character from the 1940s through the 1970s was voiced by her. However, let's say the greatest FEMALE voiceover artist. After all, the most famous of them all was Mel Blanc who probably voiced over 500 different characters, male AND female.

"June Foray is not the female Mel Blanc. Mel Blanc is the male June Foray." (forgot who said it)

Okay. I just know that I liked the work both of them did.

Hell, I remember June Foray from the original Christmas Carol (which I need to try and get on DVD. That, and A Pocketful of Miracles).

And I have a picture of something somewhat similar to that. It shows a farmer's field, completely empty of crops. And underneath, it says: "Behold! The field in which I grow my fucks. Lay thine eyes upon it, and see that it is barren!" x3

Today at work I finally remembered the most famous character I ever heard June Foray portray. If I recall correctly, she was the voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel from the old Rocky and Bullwinkle TV show. I was more than a little surprised when I found out that Rocky, a male squirrel, was voiced by a woman. LOL.

Will this bloody year just end already? :(

It's not so much that as much as death needs to take a vacation for a while and leave everyone the hell alone for that time.

While I wasn't a fan of the show in question, I hate to learn that anyone younger than me died of unexpected causes. R.I.P. C. Martin Croker.

The show that made Adult Swim has lost a great man.

I was very sad too learn of his passing :C I loved him as the voices of Zorak and Moltar, more so when he did Moltar when Toonami made it's debut on Cartoon Network.
