"Don't work for what you MAKE. Work for what you BECOME."
Thought I'd put a little artist pep talk out there for anyone who is interested in becoming a professional artist or even those who are passionate about their hobby. It seems what happens most times to me when I get discouraged is I'll think. "There are so many more artists out there that are better than me." or "My art will never be good enough to sell" And I just wanted to let anyone know who has those specific feelings that. If that is true, Than how come there are people who come to your page, Favorite your art, Comment, ask about commissions, trades and view YOUR art. IF that artist over there is so much better why do they pay attention to your art? What's so good about it? It's Unique to you, it's that simple.
You will never see art like yours anywhere else. And that's what makes it fantastic. Sure you might still be working on anatomy, color harmony, composition. But your art not being perfect is not a down fall if you want to hone those skills great! You will make it even more unique to you. And that's why people comment on your art and not theirs, Favorite your art and not theirs. There are all types of people who will like your style because it's unique to you and not for the mere fact that you can completely replicate "Starry starry night" It's not always how good you are it's How much of me am I putting into this. When we start as artists we want so much to be someone we are not. We try to learn from other artists and mimic their styles and that's ok in the beginning. But if you continue to copy someone elses style it looses all of it's uniqueness.
I like many people wanted to be like wolfy nail and have my style like that, But after a while I realized even if I ever get that good, They'll still like wolfy nails more than mine, Because it wasn't me. So be yourself. You CAN be successful in an art career. you DO have the time, You DO have the finances. JUST DO IT. You are only as successful as you think you are. When you radiate success people will see that, They want to commission you when they see a successful person. Eliminate Can't from your vocabulary because it will only hold you back.

It's hard to remember why we keep going sometimes but isn't it fucking fantastic to think as artists and ( I'm quoting someone from
artist incubator because they worded it flawlessly)that we as artists can reach into the void and pull something out. We are the few
that can make something from nothing. That' is just so amazing to think about it. It's like a super power haha!
