Hurricane Update

It is almost 6AM as I write this and I thought I'd give an update.
I still have power and internet. That may change before the day is out but for now everything is normal, just a bit windy and rainy.
As I mentioned in the previous journal, the nature of hurricanes and winds are unpredictable and the best people can do is make very educated guesses. In my case, Matthew decided to spend time further east instead of closer to me.
What this means is that even though I am still going to get hit with heavy winds and rain, they won't be as bad as we feared. This could still knock out power and it WILL cause problems, but not the 80-100mph winds we feared. Of course, due to the unpredictable nature of storms, it could veer west and slam into me if it felt like it. It's the waiting around that drives me crazy right now.
So, I'm still here and I am fine. I am having issues with my phone due to the lines being overwhelmed so if you send me a text and I do not respond it might be due to that, plus the fact that I'm busy doing little niggly things as well like cooking all the chicken before it goes bad and checking to see if all the rechargable things are fully charged and such.
According to the latest predictions the worst of it will happen at around 10AM my time and will start to die down in the late afternoon. If I still have power and internet I'll let you know. Very glad it didn't. Bet any NASA people where hunkered down in the Vehicle Assembly Building though.
Of course I also extend a though and my condolences to those who's lifes have been affected by the hurricane.
