Twice in the last week I've lost YCHs because people don't follow proper auction manners. Out of curiosity I'll eventually return to the auction that I had the high bid on only to find someone else has won it. What the hell?
FOR THE BIDDERS: Always comment your bid in reply to the current high bid. The person get's notified and they have a chance to bid higher. This is only fair. Commenting elsewhere in the thread, or in reply to a lower bid is unfair because the high bidder is not notified.
FOR THE ARTIST: Moderate your auctions, please. If you see someone bid out of place, please ask them to bid in the proper spot and hide that unfair bid. You're only hurting yourself in the long run by getting less money for your work.
For everyone else, hope your year has been going well.

It also went 3 days on my bid being the only bid on it until the last day when suddenly this other person wanted it. The auction had been up for 2 weeks.
Sorry for the random passerby comment, but I do feel your pain here.
