The Human Body is Crap
General
As much as I enjoy my human senses and the joy of living, maintaining a human body is CRAP.
My skin condition has been a roller coaster for months, I stubbed my ingrown toenail and it's probably infected, and last night I managed (while too vigorously applying lotion to sooth my burning facial skin) to sprain my neck or worse.
Lucky for me, none of these have kept me from my work (yet- Jury is still deciding on the neck thing, as today was my day off), which is catching up nicely. However, if there are minor delays or problems, at least you will know the cause.
For the skin, I just completed another internal organ flush (which usually clears me up partially for a week or two), but I'm planning to shift my diet completely for a few weeks to reset my internal micro-biome and see if a better diet structure will help.
For the toe, running it under hot water appears to have helped greatly reduce the swelling and pain and it should be fine soon enough.
For the neck... this one terrified me. I've never hurt myself so badly in such a manner. I woke up my wife and was almost in tears due to the pain and worry that I may have seriously injured myself. After about 10 hours of rest though it felt a bit better, and I had an almost normal day with minor pain. Shows signs of a sprain or strained muscle more than a fracture or herniated disc, so I'm hoping I'll be good by the morning.

Why, just today, I saw a news print that claimed they have found a cure for blindness. And a few months back, saw a video that showed a kid whom had broken his spinal cord in a tragic sports accident and was going to be a paraplegic for life had regained the use of his muscles to the point where he could walk and play games, all thanks to an exo-skeletal device. And who knows what may be laying in wait, just around the corner. There's talk about mechanical doctors that are operated by Human docs from a thousand or more miles away. Which could lead to AI driven versions...that don't demand a billion dollars for the services. Maybe micro-robots that can repair damage from the inside of the body, making long term injuries a quick inconvenience without surgery or clean out clogged arteries to prevent stroke/heart attack. Or even DNA correction capacity to weed out bad genes or even improve our core existence. After all, what if you could pop a pill and have tiny machines remove unwanted fat, improve muscle tone or even enhance your brain's capacity in a matter of days? (Or being a Furry...metamorphosis?)
We are, after all, living in the days of 'yesterday's' science fiction.
...of course, the medical practice will monopolize it and mark it up by twenty thousand fold...
We have 4 too... Hot, Pleasantly cool, Hot again, and Oh God WHY?!.
Unlike in the US, where the president makes it a full on requirement to be insured to help cover all medical practices. The monthly payments are downright highway robbery. I got steady employment and I couldn't pay them.
It's like that one day that I needed time in the ER. Laid around in a bed. Had a test, a little medicine and some apple juice. Price paid? A stay at Board Walk. (With the bloody hotels.) Work insurance covered well over $9,000 of it. I don't even want to think what the bill for real service comes out to.
Though I never was a fan of Australia's nanny-government. They're one un-informed edict away from declaring the art I draw for a living, and the activities we do for fun to be illegal. Mostly it's the unnecesary censorship stuff.
No problems with the people, just the officials. But isn't that the way with most countries? The people are awesome and the people who run things suck? Brexit, Donald Trump, Kim Jong Un? LOL
Anyway, the heath care thing is pretty cool. I hope we get things in order here in the US some day soonish.
The problem is it will probably be when the US declares bankruptcy and the UN takes over everything. I hear their first planned thing to fix is that annoying right to bear arms.
Oh, hey...I hear that new space nation is taking applications for citizenship. Want to go live in a tin can that orbits around the Earth?
The other stuff sounds really scary though. o.o
I ended up with both big toes ingrown on both sides, kept trying to fix it myself, and ended up with a year of my life where I went beyond the driveway 4 times because wearing shoes resulted in agony, pus, and blood. I also ended up with a nickel sized flap of angry red-purple skin with no feeling in it on top of one toe that had to be removed with a scalpel.
Sounds to me like Murphy has set up shop at Your House this week! (Referring to Murphy's law). :o
