Artist Beware - Years of begging and he can't take the hi...

This guy *Redacted1 (and *Redacted2 , an alt he used to harass me after the fact) has been asking for a comic collab (he writes a story, someone else does the art)...
I tried being polite, offering advice, and trying to explain why people probably won't take him up on it the way he's approaching it.
I was met with petty, juvenile, entitled, and narcissistic replies trying every kind of guilt and blame trick you'd expect from a badly raised 6 year old trying to get a mommy to buy them a toy. In his own words, he's been trying this shit for literally "YEARS", so much so that he has a damned PDF handout explaining why it's not free art and how he'll only accept "No" for an answer if it doesn't meet a list of excuses he gets constantly...
Take my advise *Redacted, you have 3 options:
1. Learn to play nice with others, make friends actually interested in your story, and try to work with them.
3. Respect these artists enough to pay them what they're worth to get what you want, like everyone else.
2. Learn how to draw your own damn self and do it on your own.
And to anyone else out there, I love helping others. I tried over the course of eight notes here on FA to talk to this person.
The first 5-6 were actually me trying to be constructive though declining to collaborate on the actual project.
I believe in collaboration and community, but that doesn't mean you can just send me (or any artist) a note with demands and expect to get them on board. Collaboration is like consensual sex; both people have to want it, both people have to contribute, and if it works out, it's a lot of fun whether you're making money or not. But if one says "I want you to shit on my chest and cum in my ear" and the other person says "I'm not into that", then no amount of explanations, guilt, or harassment is gonna get that to happen.
If you have a request, or a collab idea, just throw it out to an artist you like, maybe you'll find someone to work with... You're not a bad person for wanting something you maybe can't afford. But if that person says "NO" or has it posted that they don't do that, then don't. Respect them, their time, their work, and their choices as you would want to be respected. And if you "don't understand why you can't just do whatever you want regardless of the feelings of others", then you might just be a narcissistic asshole too.

That i am believing about nice art.
I'd like to applaud your reasoning.
1 in 20 or so treat me like I'm making a request, instead of offering to share the work, brainstorm an idea we both like, and share profits...
I'd consider those numbers pretty fair.
He doesn't want to do either of those things because it requires *effort* and honestly if he put as much effort into learning as he does harassing people, he'd probably have it finished by now.

And it's still one of my favorite and most ambitious single projects.
It puts me in mind of people who host competitions involving their OC and their kink (Or also mainstream brands with logos etc). Even if there's a cash prize for the first two/three opinion-decided winners, that's asking a lot of people to do something for nothing. Would this fellow consider that a collaboration too?
But yeah, people watching me are probably not artists themselves, and those who are don't have the time for that.
I feel the same way about fast food places or retail shops that offer a "chance to win $X" in exchange for taking a survey.
Compare that to places that just give you a decent coupon for your time? I'll take a guaranteed coupon over a lottery entry every time...
And I mean every time (I've never filled out a restaurant survey unless: 1. The service/food was great or the server begged for it (gotta help people out some times). 2. There was a major issue and needed to complain to corporate (something major, more than a "Karen" complaint). 3. There was a decent promised reward.
The best ones so far for a quick survey:
- Pizza Hut ($10 off your next order)
- Popeyes (Buy a large drink, get 2 pieces of chicken and a biscuit free)
- Burger King (Buy a fry and a drink, get a Whopper or Chicken Sandwich free)
And birthday clubs (this shit is just strait up FREE for giving them your email):
- BoxLunch (It's a geek/pop culture collectable/merch store - They give you $5 in credit for your birthday AND another $5 on the anniversary of you signing up... I signed up on my birthday month, so I get $10 for free every year on that month. No strings, no purchase necessary).
- Red Robin (Burgers/etc. table service) free meal on your birthday month if you sign up for the club.
- Jersey Mikes (Classic sub sandwiches) free big ass sub meal. And the coupon can be used any time during the whole year after your birthday.
- HuHot (Mongolian Grill) Buy one get one free
- Ruby Tuesdays (Free Burger meal)
Mind blowing
and to visualize that into a comic would likely take several pages, and exponentially more word depending on detail level.
That's why movies based on books feel so trimmed down, they have cut all the extra internal monologue, try to visualize descriptions,
and condense things or 1 book could be a 15 hour film.
