No matter how much we try, we can't make everyone happy..

OK this is a journal in response to another i was linked to by friends who had read the BS.
Going back to the subject above,
- No matter how much artists and fursuit makers try, we can Never, ever make everyone happy or completely satisfied.
NOBODY in the human race is perfect, & we are not machines, or huge multi-billion dollar corporations with unlimited work force or manpower, tools, or even the super-human skills to be perfect... But there are always those few who expect perfection, and if they do not receive exact perfection, then they go completely negative and try their best to slander, hate, troll, & demoralize us as much as they can by gaining as much attention as they can, with lies, exaggeration, over-proportioned bull-shit to try to make themselves feel better, look better, and try to put as much of the blame and hate they can on the artist or builder, and try as much as they can to make others "feel sorry" for them to force otehrs to spread negative drama on us to butter them up...
I know every builder ( and artist for that matter) has had the same moments, bad customers, and been hit with their fair share of hate & slander from those couple bad customers that do the same to them, but its sad that its crazy similar in almost every case i have seen over the 18 +years i have been in this fandom, and i hear from other builders i talk to often.
98 % of all my past fursuit commission customers know i strive to build a suit with the best possible quality, craftsmanship, care and love i put into each & every suit i build, as most of every suit i build even from the first are still in use and enjoyed for the last 8 + years. But its sad when i read a journal that is posted with a bunch of exaggerated, negative slander and lies about problems on a recent head commission during this past year that do NOT exist is crazy. I was even accused that i used an "old head base"! which is absolutely retarded to even think that! and reading the rest of the accusations which i KNOW are lies, exaggerated, and only intended for one thing to slander me, especially knowing this past commissioner was taunted on to do that by someone else who is a friend of the person-in-question, in the past who hates be because i disagreed how that other person treated others.
both past commissioners who know me in person well, and the hundreds of friends who know me for years KNOW how honest i am with building suits, and KNOW how much care and love i have put into building suits for the last 8 years, and will always do so. But like the media, the furry fandom consists of a few who don't give a damn' about the good things people do, they only care about the negative things & drama.
and yes i did read the replies to that journal, and notice many of the replies are from those who still either hold a grudge or hate me because either they got denied a commission from me, or i disliked their attitude in the past, or they are known trolls of negative drama, or those who think i am a damn machine and have to respond within a few minutes of their message to me & got upset because i could not reply in a week or two.
- this journal is just posted in my defense to the lies and exaggerated propaganda posted in that journal by the person in question. (which i will not name here or anywhere.) its just to answer those who may be wondering about the person in question.
What makes it even worse, is i have spoken to the person to try to work out the issues, and thought we had already talked it out, as i did offer to fix what ever concerns this person had, but the distance of the location of the person made it more difficult to do right away. (we do not have star Trek transporters yet on our planet, and 9000 miles do not make it easy to close that gap. but suddenly now i have been blocked by this person, then slandered with lies, hate, and words to try to slander me for problems that do NOT exist.
IF there are those who have read this person's journal and believe all that bullshit & accusations, then so be it. I am not going to try to change your thoughts. What some of the repliers don;t think about when they poke their nose and their 2-cents worth in a negative journal to add their own negativity, karma usually bites them back in time. news travels fast in the furry community, especially bad drama, hate or negative things really get around quickly and only makes those who support the bad drama as bad as they are.
Nobody on this planet is perfect, and to expect me to be perfect, or to think they themselves are perfect, then they have deeper issues themselves that need to be fixed.
- Sincerely FS6

You're right tho. It's hard to please a fur. There's always a creative expectation that a suit maker will replicate exactly what's on the reference guide. Impossible. Even Mickey in the parks and the page are two separate items. Fuck this guy.
Go one building quality items for the people whom are lucky enough to say "no one but firestorm can bring my character it life."
I shopped you when I was going to have my raccoon created. I like your suits but I took responsibility in that my raccoon doesn't meet your style. I'm Toony. Big body. I see your suits as more sleek with racing stripes. Great look but I cannot expect you to do something uncharacteristic to your style. Some commissioners need to realize most everything a crafter makes is a one-off. A prototype. It sounds like their fault was in that they expected you to deliver something they had no business purchasing from you in the first place.
I bought from a competitor. I had zero expectations other than: purple raccoon.
I told this to my maker too. I received emails about my reference sheet stating some parts were physically impossible to make or would result in bad design. My response was and always shall be: as the craft maker I cannot expect you to create something that works in cartoon physics and paper. There's a difference between hand drawn art and a prototype costume. All I ask- is that it is a purple raccoon at the end. Do what works. I went to this maker and I emphatically trust this maker to bring my costume to life. If I can't trust the maker then I should take responsibility in that I made a poor decision. No criticism of any crafters. Just sometimes you cannot expect a maker to make something that don't make or have insane standards.
preach it
Your work is cherished, your talent is worth more than it's weight, and your skill is rivaled only by the few who do work as hard as you have to provide people with what they could consider perfection in the work you do, because the happiness you give those people with the fursuits and costumes grants the purest happiness, which is perfection in my book.
You keep your head up and keep above this negativity and ahead of the bull that clings to the soles of this "community's" shoes.
Hopefully our teleportation age will come and you can beam to this guy's room and beat the snot out of him for fun and Spock-out of there at warp speed lol.
But yes, you should keep doing what you are doing to make YOU happy, and even if this gets out of hand, in my opinion, your happiness is more important and enjoying what you do as a person and unique individual. After having met the real you (in and out of suit), and having seen your work over the years, it's safe to know without even needing to read their crap that it was lies in the first place. You're a great person. And that's no lie :D
But there are times where fursuit makers are taking offence to what we put in our Journals to a point of trolling us about how it's written. I'm far from perfect myself as a person. But if we to commission someone and if we have a reason to as in we are furry youtubers or whatever and if we do not have a fursuit at all, some of us admitting to be too above ourselves.
Because we think if you were to make something for a youtuber and eventually this youtuber you make a suit for get enough subs for a play button means more publicity and notoriety to you as a maker as more likely, more furs want to has a fursuit made by the same as the youtuber they like simply because they absolutely adore the suit and if they say who's your maker, that person can proudly say this suit of <insert fursona> is made by <insert fursuit maker>. That was how exiting I was at the time of possibly getting my fursona being brought to life as a suit.
Customers can be assholes and that goes for any job you do no matter what. But the maker ain't all righteous either. Not saying that you artist are machines at all. But sometimes you artists need to not take assumptions into what the client is saying about you. If the customer don't like your work, then why the hell he or she commissioned you in the first place. Like me admitting to have this drama towards each other with a curtain noodle dragon.
Custom hand made art is custom hand made art.
Disappointment happens from time to time due to people having an inflated expectation of their dreamsuit coming to fruition. Some are harder to please than most.
Yes, you paid me $3,000. Yes, I accepted your commission. Yes, you put your faith and trust in me.
Yes, I tried my best to my ability using my years of skill and made something I am proud of.
After all of that, it falls on the opinion of the customer... and if you are like me, you hope to hell that when they pull it out of the box, I don't hear any negative feedback.
but yah, it happens., most folks are rational. others are nightmares.
All of these people posting comments, unless they do what we do on the scale that you and I do it, have no clue what its like.
I'm with ya 100%
Itās the jealous and envious reaction of the talentless.
Ironically, while we as creators expect praise for trying to produce a work that will be as āperfectā as our talents and skills can achieve, the closer we get to that ideal achievement, the more the talentless will slander and attack our works and ourselves for doing it. Go figure.
The best we can soothe ourselves with is the honest praise and sometimes life-changing effect our work produces on the MAJORITY of those who see it, or in your case, wear it.
I'm trying my hand on making a suit because I figured it be fun to do, and a neat learning experience. The other thing I just can't afford to shell out the type of cash that is needed to have one built for me. Well I could if I didn't have other things that took priority.
As for my art, I know that it's not going to please everyone, but I have learned that I need to please my self first with my work before I can please others. Yet I'm guilty of always trying to please others first.
I think it was ignorant of said person to make ignorant and slanderous comments then create drama .... this was an issue between you and him and should not have gone beyond that! I have never met you but from what I know about you I know that I would love to meet you and I think your fursuits are a work of art, every FS6 suit I've see is full of awesome sauce! Perhaps some day I will commish you for a partial, I would be proud to wear one of your suits, they are a symbol of excellence!
Thanks big ole bunches for being who you are and doing wonderful things for the furry community, I hope I will, someday, get a hug from you, but till then here's a cyber hug *huuuuuuuuuuuuug*
Was the stitching weak, or was there something wrong with the pattern? Usually people don't just go off on a tangent because they find a string out of place.
So, interested in having a dialogue or just want to get some positive attention by people who aren't actually talking about the problem?
There's two phrases people should keep in mind:
"Buyer beware" and "The customer is always right, but not always correct."
That being said, all one needs to do is go through your gallery and your responses and it's quite easy to see that you put a lot of care into your work. It's why I follow you in the first place despite not being in the market for one myself but the detail you put in and overall build quality is second to none. I don't know what the deal is with this person that's out to ruin your name but from my perspective they're blowing it out of proportion and apparently going as far as spreading misinformation. You're not perfect, you're gonna screw up somewhere and all you can do is make it right within reason. That's not going to change the fact you put a lot of yourself into your creations and that it shows in the final result. Work of this caliber takes time. A lot of it especially since you're not like WETA that has an entire teams involved in the process. On top of that you have to live some sort of life away from work too just like anyone else.
So just keep doing what you're doing because sadly people like that are just one of the aspects of running a business.
Haters will never win...never. You keep up the awesome work bud, your are cared and respected by many people and you deserve it!
Go on with your nice and good work buddy :)
I've been there. I've even dealt with people I don't even know slandering my work because someone they're friends with didn't like me or my work after I've offered to fix whatever they were unhappy with.
I'm so relieved that I'm not the only one. My heart goes out to you, and even though I don't know you personally, I've admired your work for such a long time and I can see the effort and carefulness that goes into each one.
People expect perfection each time, and can not separate art from manufacturing. We will never please everyone, and knowing that I'm not the only one who has felt this puts me at ease. And I thank you and appreciate that.
