in which paypal screws me over once again

:^) but then again they're really good at that so nobody is surprised ever
Anyways, Paypal now has it so that I have a limit of how much money I can earn, and any extra is held for 21 days before it's available for me to use. And I understand why they're doing it and all, but it's still kinda annoying that I have to wait 6 months before I can even ATTEMPT to request an increase so I don't have to worry about funds being held and then i'm screwed until the next month.
As I said, I understand what they're trying to do, but what pisses me off the most is the fact I called twice and had to deal with two different people each time, and every single one of them has told me something that contradicts the other. It's like nobody is on the same page over there lmao. SOOOOOO this just messes me up because now I have to be super vigilant with how much money i'm making. Which sucks because this means that I can't even prepare for emergencies because hEY I CAN'T ONLY USE X AMOUNT PER MONTH BETTER USE IT WISELY LOL. Until March apparently then I can request an increase which still doesn't guarantee me anything :x So i have to kind of restructure my whole work ethic to match this WHICH IS REALLY HARD and i'm freaking out and it's probably not as bad as i'm making it out to be but....rip..
BUT OKAY I HAD SOME QUESTIONS FOR PEOPLE
1. is anyone else, artist or commissioner, with a paypal account dealing with the new monthly limit thing?
2. does anyone use other methods for receiving/sending payments like squarecash or google wallet or something similar? I'd love to get some feedback from people who use those and see if it's something I should look into?
The money I received earlier today from the busts is all being held until November 21 so I won't have access to that until then, but just a fyi that doesn't change how i'm working on them, in case anyone was wondering!!! I'll be working on those and getting them send out asap regardless! <: This was like..a vent plus update journal I guess LOL bUT YEAH THAT'S WHAT GOING ON AND THE SOURCE OF MY ANXIETY ATTACK AND ALSO MIGRAINE i need to take a nap zzZZZZZ

FA+

I'm thinking it's because i'm in their system as a new customer (even though i've been using paypal for 6 years now under a Student account) but made the new account in September since they're now longer offering the Student Account service anymore
BUT THANK YOU ;; me too, or that I can at least get the limit increased sooner than 6 months because I can't put off bills and groceries for that long lmao
You can speed it up by asking the customer to mark the item received. You yourself need to first marked it as "processed", since it's digital goods.
Luckily my customer was really nice and understanding, and they helped out from their end.
PayPal released my funds within 3 days.
I've always been nervous to deal with the shipping with paypal, but this might be a good get around until I can either up the limit or remove it entirely~!
I worry about troubling people with this extra step but if I go through with it I hope peeps can be understanding ;; Thanks for your input! <3
""Payment is complete. Please process the order right away. The payment you received is temporarily kept in your pending balance. If there is no problem with the order, your fund will be available within 21 days.
Here are a few steps you can take to help getting your funds sooner:
Items requiring shipment: Ship the item as soon as possible using a shipping service that provides tracking and delivery confirmation. Once you've completed shipment, log in to your PayPal account to mark the item as shipped and provide the shipping details. We'll calculate the estimated delivery date and release the payment within 7 days of that date.
Items not requiring shipment: Once you've completed the order of services or digital goods such as music files, eBooks or Apps, do not forget to log in to your PayPal account to mark the order as processed and provide any additional details. We'll calculate the estimated delivery date and release the payment within 7 days of that date.
If your buyer confirms that the item was delivered and doesn't report any problems with it, you may get your funds sooner. If there are problems with the order, the funds would remain in the pending balance until the issue is resolved, which may take longer than 21 days.""
I think you can quote the text to the customer. ^^
I am sure they will understand!
But to be honest, this stuff sucks so badly.
PayPal needs to start understanding that not everyone using their services is Ebay-merchant.
Hopefully you figure that situation out soon :/. Sucks that PayPal feels they need to put a limit on how much ppl can withdraw, especially for folks who rely primarily on comission work and whatnot as their primary source of income
